Focus only on what's most relevant to the history of New London. For example, the sequestration is an important moment in Hook's life, but not essential to the history of New London.
The section on Hook as loyalist is a great ideas. Try to summarize his significance here as it relates to the history of New London. You'll want to take out the lengthy quotation and rethink your sources focusing on secondary rather than primary sources.
Remember that your reader has searched Wikipedia for more information about New London. Write your section with that in mind.
