Ensure logged in prior to editing

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting. Can you edit something that you personally know

Hi there, I ran across your question at WP:Teahouse and was not impressed by the answer you received. If you're writing in good faith (as opposed to vandalism etc) then you can be bold and write anything you want. It may get deleted for a variety of reasons (cause I can delete anything I want). You only need to provide a reference/source/citation for "all quotations, and any material whose verifiability has been challenged". My common process has been:

1) I add the text that I believe to be true. (90% of the time, this works fine)

2) Another editor deletes/reverts/changes what I added. (as they should if it's un-referenced and they think it may not be true)

3) I again add the text that I believe to be true, but this time with a reference.

4) Another editor deletes/reverts/changes what I added. (it is rare for my referenced text to be deleted)

5) I go to the articles talk page to find out what's up, and together we work out a consensus.

So quick and dirty is fine unless you are writing something that's sure to be challenged, then you may as well put the reference in right away. I hope this helps, Welcome to Wikipedia! Dougmcdonell (talk) 06:50, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Content on individual towns is often added without the needed citations. Unlike, say, medical or political articles, there are not a lot of people disputing facts, so town articles stay below the radar. Even so, better to have citations. I removed [[ ]] from Verso Luke Mill. Double brackets are for Wikilinks - connections to other Wikipedia articles. As there is no existing article about Verso Luke Mill, it showed up as red rather than blue.

Another thing - articles that were created with British spelling ("organisation") stay that way. David notMD (talk) 10:36, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
