[edit]What do you want to say with the text in your user page? It's Advance fee fraud.217.232.56.129 (talk) 06:04, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Just a pun with the name and all. Just for fun. Paul Pot (talk) 22:44, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi Paul
[edit]Hi Paul, I do not mean to be forward, but your username will need to be changed because it is deeply offensive to many people, and in accordance with Wikipedia:Username policy it's not allowed. I'm not suggesting that you did it on purpose, but the English wikipedia is shared by a lot of people. You don't need to do anything yourself, but I'd like to know if it is ok with you to simply go ahead and have it changed, and if so, what alternative you might like, (I could help you think of something if you like) Penyulap ☏ 18:41, 28 Jul 2012 (UTC)
- Damn. OK. Will have to think about new name. Paul Pot (talk) 18:47, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- "Users who have made very few edits are encouraged to register a new account and discard the old one."
- I think I will go for that. Paul Pot (talk) 18:57, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- OK, I have a new name. Will continue with the new name. Paul Pot (talk) 19:06, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- It is sometimes, but not always, better just to keep an old account and change the name. It is easy to do, it gives an advantage at least to people like me, because if I look at someone's contributions I can see if they are a new editor or have had previous experience. This is not the case for everyone, some people can't see, and other people can see and know that there are a lot of reasons it's ok. I just want you to know that it is a small thing, and it's something you should take into account when you are making your decision. There is no right or wrong choice on that one, it's basically the same. But for me, if I see a new users edits, I know they are not a sockpuppet or something like that. No problem, happy editing, if you change your mind or want help with anything, feel free to ask me. Penyulap ☏ 19:13, 28 Jul 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
