Hello, I'm Graywalls. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, War on drugs, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. You've done this twice now. Anything you add needs to be reliably sourced. @Graywalls: I am struggling to understand if I am conforming to the standards and I am doing this for a class assignment. If I am still doing it wrong would you be able to just tell me exactly what is wrong? I wrote a new section under sentencing disparities and I looked for reliable sources, sources that I would use for essays. I hope that I have done this correctly this time.

First of all, you did an original research, which is your own interpretation of the source to come to your own conclusion. You didn't discuss those concerns and kept adding it back on. Someone else fixed your editorialized summary as well. Anything you insert has to be _directly_ supportable per WP:V. It's not like writing an essay. When you're doing a report/essay, you might conduct your own research, interview people and work that into your report as personal interview. When you're writing on Wikipedia, that is not allowed. @Patel.preenz, Graywalls explained the issues with original research well. Please read their message above, before adding anymore text. If you do have more text to add, let me know and I'll take a look at your sandbox draft.

It can be a bit of a challenge to write in the neutral, encyclopedic style that is required for Wikipedia. Take a look at User:GreenMeansGo's edit. Words like - alarming, aggressive, significant - are shaping the text and persuading the reader to think a certain way about the topic, when the goal is to provide a neutral, fact based summary of the topic at hand based off the reliable sources you've found. When writing, you want to be as neutral as possible so the reader forms their own opinions based on the facts presented. To learn more about tone and editorializing as mentioned by several editors, check out this page on Words to watch.

Please remember that when another editor undoes your edit in a way you disagree with, you need to stop and discuss the change on a Talk page. That's the rule for every Wikipedian: Never just re-insert the content without discussing it first. If you do, you can be blocked for edit-warring (could've happened in this case). Also reach out to a Wikipedia Expert whenever something like this is happens.
