A tag has been placed on File:Methane Pyrolysis-2.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://science.sciencemag.org/content/358/6365/917. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Parent55 (talk) 02:59, 1 November 2020 (UTC) My mistake, please proceed with deletion of the file Methane Pyrolysis-2.png Parent55 Parent55 (talk) 02:59, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also is w:File:Methane Pyrolysis-1.png your own work or copied from somewhere else? Dylsss(talk • contribs) 04:12, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Both graphics are from the same source, the author of the papers cited. I have just sent an email requesting right to use on Wikipedia and other purposes. In the meantime I took the reference to Pyrolysis-1 out of the page where I used it. You are welcome to delete both graphics. If/when I get written permission to use I will load them again with the credit the author requests. I agree I should have taken this step first, before I used them. Parent55 (talk) 04:52, 1 November 2020 (UTC) Parent55[reply]

Thanks, though I want to clarify that "permission" isn't how we upload and license images on Wikipedia, either the image is released under a free license, or it's not. If the copyright owners want to license it under a free license, they will have to email permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. Please don't upload images as creative commons when they are not, because it is an unambiguous copyright violation. Note that fair use images are allowed on Wikipedia, but this type of image wouldn't be covered by a fair use rationale. Dylsss(talk • contribs) 05:32, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thank you for your guidance, these are the first graphics I've used on Wikipedia and clearly I've still some learning to do. I appreciate your help correcting my errors and will work to follow the rules properly. Parent55 (talk) 05:58, 1 November 2020 (UTC) Parent55[reply]

Image with wrong data

[edit]

It looks as File:Hydrogen production via Electrolysis.png has energy content of produced hydrogen (43 Mwh) bigger than input (39,4 MWh), so it makes perpetual motion possibile. More over, the description “Newer Hydrogen Production Method” and “No Greenhouse Gas Pollution” makes it look like a commercial advertisement. I am asking the source so I could check how the data was made. --Robertiki (talk) 11:58, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
