Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Paramountparks. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Paramount Parks, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. GoneIn60 (talk) 05:49, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am not connected to the corporation in any way, shape or form as it has been defunct for over 16 years. This includes any connection and investment to Viacom, CBS, and Paramount Global. It is just a topic that I enjoy/like to preserve the history of. The usage of Paramount IPs in parks operated by the entities unaffiliated to the original subsidiary should be made into its own page in order to not clutter up a page which has quite a portion of it taken up by a completely different topic. Thanks for responding. The COI concern above was also based on the fact that you've created an account called "Paramountparks", which implies affiliation with the defunct company. Per WP:CORPNAME and WP:ISU, you should consider changing this username to something else. As for the article itself, I understand your viewpoint about removing information that is unrelated to the defunct company, but do keep in mind that this info has been sourced. Instead of just deleting, consider moving it to another article with a more appropriate topic. Thank you. --GoneIn60 (talk) 11:08, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I can understand the miscommunication, I’ll attempt at changing it in the coming days. I may attempt at making an article for the usage of those IPs, but as I am new to Wikipedia that may take a long time before I can actually make progress on that.
