Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Vu Digital does not have an edit summary. I know you are a new user, so I just would like to help you use wikipedia as best possible in accordance with the policies. Thank you!
Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Lib arts premed96 (talk) 20:33, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
Vu Digital
[edit]I notice that in all of your recent edits to Vu Digital, you seem quite intent on remove information about the Vu app, but that is the only actually verifiable content in the article. While the new V2D technology is impressive, it does not wipe the company's previous history from memory. If there is a good reason that this information should not be in the article (and "the company doesn't want it there" is not a good reason) please discuss it at Talk:Vu Digital. Removing cited material is considered a form of vandalism at Wikipedia; please don't do it again without a good discussion of the matter first. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:09, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
WikiDan, thank you for your insights. The Vu App is no longer available on the app store. We need to update this information. May I create a history section that describes what the Vu App did? We are no longer working in that space as we have been developing and now selling the V2D services. We want the wikipage to reflect our history but also more accurately reflect our focus and specialization which is video analytics. Papagreg32 (talk) 15:30, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
- Please understand first and foremost: what you as a company want your Wikipedia page to say is quite irrelevant. Wikipedia is not your personal marketing platform. That being said, if the Vu App is no longer available, a note to that effect should be added to the article. But because of you're conflict of interest, you should not be the one to make that change. Quite frankly, based on your admission that you are affiliated with the company and are here to shape the page to your own liking, you really should not edit the page at all. Any changes you think should be made should be raised at the talk page. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:41, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Papagreg32. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Vu Digital, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. As per your comments above, it seems that you work for the company, and thus have a conflict of interest. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:32, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
