Hi this is Panarchy here! Why hasn't anyone posted a comment yet? Come on people I'm not asking for money, all I'm asking for is acknowledgment! Thanks for taking the time to read this (Meaningless dribble!) comment.

Minefield

[edit]

Hey, do you realize that there is a reason that every time you start an article on Minefield it gets deleted or redirected to Mozilla Firefox? Just because you create it at a new location doesn't mean it's good enough.--XMBRIAN 23:20, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So what do you think the article needs to stop people from deleting it?

Panarchy 23:48, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not existing. Then people can't delete it.  :) Seriously though, it's not notable enough of an article. Nothing can be done to change that. Sorry. --XMBRIAN 00:03, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MY REPLY!

[edit]

It is a web browser on its own! How can you be so stupid? Also stop deleting my account. I haven't made or changed anymore articles so stop!

Panarchy 01:17, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ummm... i'm not sure if that was directed at me, but if it was, I would have no way of deleting anything on Wikipedia. And Minefield is NOT a browser on it's own. It WAS the name of a pre-alpha release of Firefox 3, which is now in alpha 1, and it is now called Gran Paradiso. And as for being stupid, I'm not the one who keeps saying that a pre-alpha version of a browser is a browser on it's own, now, am I?--XMBRIAN 03:14, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but!

[edit]

The browser works on it's own and by the way is in pre-alpha 2 now.

And that browser is meant to be a code name for Firefox 3. Meaning, once Firefox 3 has been released, no more Minefield or Gran Paridiso.--XMBRIAN 23:50, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop creating these articles

[edit]

How have you not realized that Minefield is not worthy enough to have an article on it? How many pages need to be deleted and protected? Does it have to go to the point where an admin has to block you from editing to stop this?--XMBRIAN 17:28, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have redirected the latest Minefield article to Mozilla Firefox as discussed. If you continue to create this page or variations of it, you will be blocked for disruption. Thanks --Aguerriero (talk) 19:53, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Minefield

[edit]

First off, I can't view the message as this is what I got: Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available.

Second: I don't know how I can make it any clearer.. THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO MAKE THE ARTICLES STAND! First of all, Minefield isn't even an alpha of Firefox 3, it's simply the nightly builds of the trunk for Firefox 3. It is in NO way a web browser on its own.

Anyone looking for info on Firefox 3 naturally would look at the Mozilla Firefox article anyway.--XMBRIAN 23:29, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:MineField.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MineField.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. License tagging for Image:Milking the sacred cow.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Milking the sacred cow.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:08, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:NSAA Rodney Marks.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 05:05, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. FlyingToaster 09:42, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "HackBuntu"

[edit]

A page you created, HackBuntu, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is obvious advertising or promotional material.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. --Unpopular Opinion (talk · contribs) 09:35, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of HackBuntu

[edit]

A tag has been placed on HackBuntu, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

Hello! As promised on your article's Talk Page, I'm posting this here. Regarding getting your distro out there, you're going to have a hard (next to impossible) time using Wikipedia to advertise or publicize it. Your best bet is going to be to publish a release (even in alpha state) and share it with friends and others in the community, and be ready to fix bugs. You might do well with sharing this with folks on security-oriented mailing lists, security IRC channels, etc. When you're ready for a little more traffic (fixed a lot of the bugs), you might want to try pushing it on distrowatch.com.
From there, if it gains traction and becomes notable, you're going to have a lot easier time justifying an article on Wikipedia. Check out the article on BackTrack for a good example on this. Thanks! :) -Kgasso (talk) 10:39, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Kgasso for your informative reply. Although what you have said is helpful (I am already part of a few mailing lists), I'd like to have it on wikipedia as well. One of the reasons for this is so I can have mention of my HackBuntu wikipedia article in my post (msg). Please allow me to have this article. Thanks --Panarchy (talk) 10:48, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of GRUB4DOS

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article GRUB4DOS, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No notability indicated, no reliable third party sources.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- Jeandré, 2009-04-23t11:34z 11:34, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of GRUB4DOS

[edit]

I have nominated GRUB4DOS, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/GRUB4DOS. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. -- Jeandré, 2009-04-30t16:22z 16:22, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

A tag has been placed on Sparx Enterprise Architect requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Torchwood Who? (talk) 13:10, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article seems to be recreation of deleted material from AfD [1] in any event, you need to place a hang-on tag and discuss on the talk page of the article. I've done this for you this time as a show of good faith.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 13:26, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I was about to say Thanks, until I noticed the page had been deleted before I had a chance to explain. Panarchy (talk) 15:08, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Sparx Enterprise Architect, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

The article Term-frequency has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

More of a dictionary definition than an encyclopedia article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
