Thanks

[edit]

I just want to thank you for coming along and cleaning up my spelling and grammar errors in the various Warhammer 40K articles. I'm just having some minor graphics troubles with my PC at the moment, and while it's not enough to stop me from doing stuff, it makes it a pain in the rear to watch for all of my mistakes. I appreciate what you're doing a lot. Saberwyn 00:36, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Pak21:

It is not a vanity to link reference to the user page of the referred, whose participation in a topic is factual. That it was I, and not another person associated with Core War, who linked the Core War page with my user page, in no way lessens the appropriateness of that link.

It is vanity to hide your identity behind a nom de plume, seemingly so as to maintain anonymity.

William R. Buckley 21:18, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

It is not appropriate to link "vector" to vector (spatial) in Muirhead's inequality, since vector (spatial) explicitly statest that it is NOT about vectors in Rn for general n, but about vectors in physical 3-dimensional space. I've pointed it to vector space. Michael Hardy 19:52, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Space Marine Chapters

[edit]

Thank you. The way I'm considering my own additions to the list at the moment, they've got to have something other than a colourscheme to be included. I know the list you're talking about, and once so far I've gone through and added colourscheme info to chapters with entries in the list. I'll probably have another look in early December for any new entries without colourschemes. Saberwyn 10:23, 17 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Terra

[edit]

Sorry about that. Would it not be a good idea to move the page to Holy Terra (world)? Also they made some edits to Horus Heresy which included replacing one Terra with Holy Terra. Do you want to replace them all or should I. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 09:10, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Be bold and just do it. It's easier to ask forgivness than ask permission. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 09:21, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Miskin and other lunatics

[edit]

Thanks for stepping in on the columbine article. I edited it with what you had in mind, but I encourage you to do the editing instead, I wasn't sure if you were intending to. Is there some better way to deal with nutjobs like Miskin? It really didn't know where to reply to a discussion that starts off with basically "you suck", and I don't see the point of defending myself with a "I don't suck". --Paraphelion 04:11, 24 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Nutjobs like Miskin"? This irony is too much. You edit hand grenade and other violence-related articles, you show unjustified sympathy for two mass-murderers, and you have the nerve to call me a "nutjob"? In Freudan psychology this is called rationalization. So let me get the straight, what you're actually doing here is trying to convince another editor to continue or support an edit-war for you? How mature. Makes me wonder about your age... As for the "you suck, I don't suck" part, if you're just lying to get support then that's ok. However if you honestly interpret every thing I said as such, then you should really start worrying about your comprehension abilities. Miskin 15:32, 24 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

More adhominem. I guess Miskin wins. I'm really not willing to argue with someone who considers removal of unsourced mention of homosexuality in an artcile as somehow related to improving someone's reputation or offering sympathy to mass murderers, any more than I would be willing to argue with neo nazis, homophobes or other psychopaths. Maybe someone else does, whatever.--Paraphelion 16:13, 24 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've started a request for arbitration. I know you said you thought I would be banned if it went to that, so you may have information to add there. You said you were going to mediate, but I'm not sure what happened after that. --Paraphelion 03:42, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your recent redirect follow-through at the 3DMAZE article. I've recently nominated it at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/3D Monster Maze/archive2. You're welcome to add more ideas about what this article is missing yet to become an FA, and, of course, to take part in improving it towards that goal! TIA, --BACbKA 11:51, 24 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

re: Deora

[edit]

Hi Pak21, thanks for adding {{context]} to Deora. I had added it earlier today but the creator removed it; I then reverted it... (well, you can check the edit history;-) ). Thanks, --Gary Kirk (talk) 18:50, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Why did you remove my link? That link would be helpful to anyone interested in learning more about hacking (not cracking).

P.S. I am not a spammer, so please don't call my links spam.

Happy new year

[edit]

Hey there pak21, happy new year, and all the best for this year, thanks for your support.

A big hey from me

[edit]

Hi Pak21. I noticed you on a couple of Warhammer pages and decided to look at your User area. I noticed you have an interest in the ZX Spectrum. This was the first computer I ever used and although I still have one somewhere, it no longer works :( I hope to see you around some more. Cya. P.S. If you ever need any help with hardware related pc stuff then then don't hesitate to give me a shout. I can tell you pretty much anything you want to know :)

Wikify Tags

[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your note. The use of the wikify tag is primarily when the page has not been given any links in Wikipedia at all. I think the tag you were looking for is the {{expand}} tag, which requests more user input and lets you build it into a higher-caliber article. Hope this helps.--Mitsukai 16:11, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • If I did not put an explanation in the summary, that's probably what occurred, and that's my error. In any case, what I wrote above is my justification for the removal of the tag. If you feel that it's wrong, go ahead and retag it and I'll leave it be.--Mitsukai 16:21, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warhammer 40k temp page

[edit]

Hi, Go ahead and make some changes to the temp page. I will bring the page up to date with factual changes on the main page before transferring it. I should be able to do the transfer tomorrow. -Localzuk (talk) 00:15, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Volleyball????

[edit]

Hey, Pak21,

Regarding 'volleyball' article, here's a link that states that volleyball is second only to football (soccer) in worldwide popularity.

http://www.livingnow.info/story/5752/What_started_it_all_-_the_History_of_Volleyball

I put this addition in the intro to the article today, but you promptly took it our without discussion (preemptorily, I guess that would be). Why? What is basis. As an Oxford man, I have an inherent bias against Cambridge grads, but your action only adds to a basis for that bias.

Please respond. Ross Plaetzer, rossfp@gmail.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.87.116.131 (talkcontribs)

Done [1]. I trimmed it down to 84 kB, while still keeping it of reasonable quality, I hope. Added into article too. Pavel Vozenilek 00:45, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Non-trivial page move

[edit]

I replied to your post on Village Pump. - Samsara contrib talk 15:38, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pak21. I noticed your post in one of sporadic visits to the Pump. The Emperor of Mankind (Warhammer 40,000) version in your userspace did indeed have multiple edits which were not reflected in the "real" article history and you had expressed your polite dissatisfaction, so I have merged the histories so there is attribution. Note that the version in your userspace is now a redirect and you may ask for it to be speedied if you wish. For future reference, WP:RM is the "correct" place to request such things, but most admins, especially those who are familiar with the subject, will be happy to oblige with uncontroversial moves or merges. - BanyanTree 22:12, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page posting

[edit]

Hi Pak21, I have noticed that you seem to always post your comments on talk pages with a * rather than just using the : format. It can get confusing for other users if you do this. Is it possible that you could just use the : indent system instead? Cheers Localzuk (talk) 16:59, 26 January 2006 (UTC)`[reply]

Thanks from a new Wiki-er

[edit]

Thanks for your information on the pictures! I'll try to get the image-licensing thing sorted out, and find some stuff that's promotional/in the public domain, if at all possible... Shardifier 21:48, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphanbot edit war

[edit]

While I entirely agree with the removal, Orphanbot and Rick lay95 appearing to be engaging in an edit war on List of episodes of Power Rangers. May be worth stopping the bot in this sort of situation? Cheers --Pak21 10:39, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's no way I could detect such activity: each revert by User:Rick lay95 took place after OrphanBot stopped running for one reason or another, and after each run, OrphanBot starts with a blank slate of who needs to be notified and what images need removing. --Carnildo 22:58, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Project

[edit]

Its good to hear someone is interested. I have added your ideas to my new seperated User:Localzuk/Warhammer 40,000 Project page. Feel free to discuss the proposal on the talk page. Even if I don't get the project started any time soon, we can work on what we can do with it before hand. -Localzuk (talk) 11:16, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warhammer 40,000 Project started

[edit]

Hi, I have started to create the Warhammer 40,000 project, and preliminary information is available from Wikipedia:WikiProject Warhammer 40,000. Feel free to join in and make changes. There is a fair amount to do before the project starts working properly so we need to have a good go at it :) -Localzuk (talk) 10:56, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

40k references

[edit]

Hey, thanks for the heads-up on Wikipedia:WikiProject Warhammer 40,000/References. --Indigo_Dogs 14:07, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Check this, please

[edit]

Pak, can you check this dif for the Warhammer 40,000 article, concerning a revert I did a short while ago. Was this the right thing to do, or should some or all of the information stay? -- Saberwyn 09:36, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nethack's prominence

[edit]

A sentence I added about the prominence of Nethack and ADOM in the former's article today was met with a 'rv pov'. Can I ask why in particular it's unacceptable, and what could be done to fix the situation? To the best of my knowledge of the matter, and of general opinion, those two are the best-known and most popular roguelike games by a significant margin. --Kizor 20:43, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

populous

[edit]

If you bothered to follow the link then you would realise im not selling anything. I am merly offering a direct link to a website which offers a download for the game. I have been a member of the populous matchmaker community for years and there is a lack of players imo. Hopefully my link can allow more ppl to download the game , thus join the community.
