Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.
Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Thanks for your message pointing out the relevant part of the copyright policy. I agree that if the google video content is a copyright violation, then the link should go. It was inserted by an anon user a while back and I moved it down to it's own section, because it gives some useful context to the controversy section. I won't object if you want to remove the link. --Cactus.man ✍ 07:22, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Michael Jordan article
[edit]I received your message regarding the Michael Jordan article. Can you be more specific as to what you feel I added that was nonsense? In fact, I didn't add anything to that article. I reverted an edit made by another user that added nonsense to the artilce. James084 01:31, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
Michael Jordan as a Gay Icon
[edit]What makes you think Michael Jordan is not a Gay icon? It's only a stereo-type that gays do not like sports. Gay icons do not have to be gay. Michael Jordan is as much a gay icon as he is a sex symbol. 68.77.139.51 02:05, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

AWB bad link repair
[edit]On the AWB talk page, you expressed interest in a script to repair bad links. Well, I wrote one and sent it to Martin/Bluemoose. Martin uploaded the new version (1.6.3) about half an hour ago, so you can download it and use it to fix bad links. It fixes both bad internal and external links as per Wikipedia:Bad links - more specifically, it:
- Internal links
- Fixes double spaces
- Removes space at beginning
- Removes space before "#"
- (Note: Wikipedia:Bad links now lists a new item, space at end, that I just noticed - I'll write a regex for it ASAP.)
- External links
- Fixes double "[[" (only, however, if it begins and ends with a double bracket - it doesn't fix uneven bracketing yet)
- Replaces "|" with " "
Tell me if you notice the script malfunction. It can be accessed under the "general fixes" checkbox. — MATHWIZ2020 TALK | CONTRIBS 01:07, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
- I just sent Martin a new script. It fixes the space at the end of internal links, and fixes (surprisingly well!) uneven bracketing. I haven't heard back from him yet, but I think Martin will include it in the next version of AWB. — MATHWIZ2020 TALK | CONTRIBS 01:37, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

That 70s Show Editing Message
[edit]You left me a message about copyright violation on the page for That 70s Show. You goofed. I didn't do the edits you're talking about.Wryspy 17:16, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- Believe me, I'm sure. I'm not some kid who wouldn't say, "Oops, I didn't realized that's how it worked." Look at the history. I tweaked a sentence under "Parallels with Happy Days." I changed "toward the end of the series" to "later in the series" becaause Happy Days lasted a long time after Richie and Ralph left.Wryspy 06:33, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, I see why you thought my other edit was the big violation. And yes, it does look like I did that stuff. Check this out: [[1]] It doesn't completely make my point, but it does show that some of the edits you thought I made existed before I ever made my first tweak. P.S. I notice you're following Infinite Crisis too. You have good taste all around, it seems.
- Here we go: It's the version of mine you included that comparison but now compared to an even earlier version: [[2]] I think even that comparison is wrong, though. I changed "toward the end of" to "later in" after that 201 person's edit. Sorry, I don't understand the system enough to guess. I don't have a clue why the other comparison looked like that. A person can't edit the history page, can they?

[edit]Thanks for your note. I've taken on the tedious job of correcting all of the spelling errors in Wikipedia, and its easy to miss the odd minor edit - only one of the two you mention was such. However, I will keep a closer eye on these. --Ian Pitchford 10:10, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
Joke's RfA
[edit]Hi PS2pcGAMER, thanks for voting in my (successful) RfA. All the voters who voted neutral or oppose had the same criticism – lack of involvement in the Wikipedia namespace. This is nice, because it is a weakness that I can endeavor to fix. Although I don't think I have the disposition or diligence to be actively involved with, say, VfD, I've recently started to participate in the Featured Article discussions and will start participating in some policy discussions now that I am starting to grasp the way the project runs. –Joke 16:55, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
To link or not to link
[edit]Hi. You might want to take a look at Talk:List of National Basketball Association players with 60 or more points in a game. We have one person adding wikilinks to the article and one person removing them. Can we try to come to a consensus there so the article doesn't keep getting uglier and uglier? :) —Wknight94 (talk) 16:31, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
AWB : The American President
[edit]Hi there. This is just a friendly notice to be careful when using AWB. This [3] edit is the one I am referring to. The American President automatically redirects to The American President (film) so it wasn't really needed. Normally I wouldn't notice, but when you submitted it, you submitted it as The American President (film) instead of The American President. Happy editing! --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 00:59, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I am changing current double redirects and that's when I came across that change. I'll fix the problem. Eventually, The American President will not redirect to The American President (film) but to President of the United States. --ʀ6ʍɑʏ89 01:04, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- OK. It's completely fixed. --ʀ6ʍɑʏ89 01:29, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Dot map request: Canyon Lake, CA
[edit]Sure! (on taking requests) I've just started doing dot-maps for Southern California (Northern California is finished). I'll get to Riverside County eventually; the larger urban counties (disregarding large desert and mountainous areas) of Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, and San Diego counties are going to take some time; I'll get to it in due time. :) Bumm13 11:16, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Wikilink code (The Stig)
[edit]My sincere apologies. Allow me to explain; When I went to link it and hit preview, the linkage was always a red, indicating that it didn't link properly. So I linked it like how I did to get the blue link color. Perhaps it was just a refreshing problem. I hope this reasoning is acceptable and fully explains it. --293.xx.xxx.xx 02:00, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
Ferrari Enzo Top Gear references

Another Ferrari Enzo Comment
[edit]I do not understand why Enzo Ferrari article was castrated and cleaned by some square head!.
This is NOT a standard car which you can buy anywhere.
BECAUSE of specific how Ferrari deals with this car the informations should be restored to most complete information today available on file.
While you personaly might be NOT interested with the info about F60 ENZO, there are others who are. Do not impose your standards on all!
Yes, Enzo Ferrari is well known also as the FX and / or F60!
A few points to note include the naming of the car as the FX, which is widely believed to be changed to F60 when the car hits the roads.

- I am not really sure to what you are referring to. The only edit that I removed was a copyright violation and I discussed that on the talk page. This was a day or two ago. I haven't had a chance to review any changes or discussion that has been made over the past day. Unfortunately I don't have the time to comment on any of them now. However, I have NOT made any changes regarding the naming of the car, which seems to be what your primary concern is about, so I am really confused. Could you clarify? Also, would you please sign your name by typing ~~~~. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 05:07, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

New Wikipedian Petadeo - James Blunt Edits
[edit]Hi there - as you greeted new wikipedian Petadeo, I thought it appropriate to let you know that I have left that person a message on their user page about their recent edits to the James Blunt entry. The edits are almost entirely direct quotes from published, copyrighted sources. I could probably dig them up if necessary, but it seems only fair to give Petadeo the opportunity to correctly reference the sources first. I suspect they should probably be rewritten as well, since the article as now edited is mostly direct quotes from other sources. Your thoughts and comments (to me and/or to Petadeo) would be most appreciated - I'm pretty new at this too. Risker 06:11, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

Top Gear reference problem
[edit]Just wondering, did you notice my discussion posting about trying to make a <ref> to the 2006 Highlight section where someone mentioned whom was under the garb of The Stig, yet only made a hyperlink instead of using wiki formatting to add it to the reference section? I tried to do it, but when I went to the page linked, it's all in Swedish. The reference problem also extends to The Stigs page as well.--293.xx.xxx.xx 08:31, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I meant to get around to taking a look at it but never had a chance. See how I did the edit. I can't read Swedish, so I hope it is correct. If you want to convert the Stig's page to the same inline references like how it is done for the Top Gear page, go ahead and if you happen to run into problems, let me know. To make the references show up, create a new subsection with the following code:
==References== <references/>
- Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Cite sources/example style should be able to also help you out. As I said, just drop me a message if you run into any problems. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 08:50, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I know how to link, it was more of a translation problem than a formatting problem. Can't read Swedish. But thanks anyway for addressing my concerns.--293.xx.xxx.xx 08:56, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
- Whoops, sorry about that. Do you think how I cited it was correct? I guess you could try to contact someone on the Wikipedia:Swedish Wikipedians' notice board and see if there is someone who might be able to double check it. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 09:01, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Worth a shot. --293.xx.xxx.xx 10:33, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm now having an editing problem. Please check my User:293.xx.xxx.xx/Sandbox and the history page, because I think by me making the reference marks, it deletes parts of the article. I did already add the reference section to the article.--293.xx.xxx.xx 07:01, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- I'm happy to help. Basically, the closing referencing tag was slightly off. You had <ref/> and it needed to be </ref>, so the rest of the article became part of that reference. See the change. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 09:52, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
Oops. My bad, my bad. --293.xx.xxx.xx 08:00, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
Another question: I found some additional info about Discovery Channel's stance on Top Gear (US and UK-edit versions) on their message boards. Here is one that I managed to find:
discovery-channel Member Registered: 12-15-05
Posted 02-14-06 03:01 PM Thanks for the comments; we can't always respond, but know that we're reading them and taking what's said into consideration.
And Top Gear fans, we're definitely hearing ya!
Kristen Program Development, Discovery Channel
However, I remember somewhere in the rules that message board posts don't count as citable sources. Just wanted to clarify and get your take on it.--293.xx.xxx.xx 09:22, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Normally, message boards are frowned upon. However, especially in this case, I think it would be an acceptable source. A Discovery Channel employee posting on a Discovery Channel forum is good enough for me (and probably most people) as a source. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 10:46, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
User:293.xx.xxx.xx/Sandbox Found two posts on the message boards, edited in sandbox. Good enough, or tweaking? --293.xx.xxx.xx 11:14, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Seems ok to me. By the way, are you British? Do you know if the Brits spell it as "Americanised" or "Americanized"? I think it is the former, but I'm American and am not really exposed to very much British English spelling. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 11:20, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

FP promotion
[edit]Hi PS2pcGAMER. I noticed that you promoted Image:PIA04866 modest.jpg after I had removed it from WP:FPC as part of a block of 12 (in fact I ended up on the wrong side of an edit conflict with you when I tried to promote it myself!). Are you intending to act on any more of the 12 I have removed? Don't misunderstand me, I'm very grateful for the help (clearing 12 FPCs at once is no joke) :-), but I want to avoid duplicating the work and edit conflicts if we are both on the same job. If you want to work on any more, give me a shout and I'll hand some over! ~ Veledan • Talk 19:26, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- Just seen your reply on the FPC talk page! Lol OK I'll finish what I started :-) ~ Veledan • Talk 19:28, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- No problem, I don't normally check the talk page of WP:FPC before acting on noms either, so no need to apologise. But no, I'm treating the 12 as a block and I've added verdicts to them all but I haven't done the extra promotion bits yet. I know I'm being cheeky now but if you'll be cajoled into doing another, could you please perform the rest of the promotion of Wikipedia:Featured_picture_candidates/Anthomyiidae_sp.? Don't add it to the March archive, I'll add the 12 as a block, but the fiddly addition to the FP pages would be helpful :-) Don't worry if you are offline or don't want to do it, I'll simply leave it till last and do it if it isn't done. ~ Veledan • Talk 19:42, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- Cheers for your help: I think between us the backlog is clear!! :) ~ Veledan • Talk 22:07, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

What I needed a sandbox for was to explore the creation of a table but having looked closer at a few tables on the Wikipedia it looks like they are just made by coding in HTML. Is this correct? If not is there a reserve word reference list for encoding things like a table and the user signature, etc.? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by pce3@ij.net (talk • contribs) .
Okay. Just tried a Front Page generated table so with the links and info you have supplied should be able to get things up and running. Thanks a lot and sorry for my ignorance. PCE 12:03, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
