Some believe that prior to Roe V. Wade, Christianity has historically been the source of legislation against abortion. At the beginning of Christianity, it was a religion that focused on demands and rules for its converts, these demands were fundamentally different than pagan morals. Divorce, homosexuality, suicide, infanticide, are among the few practices that were common in Rome, the Romans also used many types of birth control, and accepted abortion. Christianity rejected all pagan practices from a fundamental level; as Christianity expanded over time, these practice became illegal in Christian Societies. Abortion has been outlawed until recent years because Christianity was the historical source of American morals, and therefore, its legal fabric.[6] Today, different Christian denominations take on a range different stances on the issue of abortion.
