Indeed. I'm fine, thanks. And you? I tried mailing the above address, but received no response. --Jwinius (talk) 03:29, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Corallus caninus edits
[edit]Hi Graham, It's good to see that you're busy with Corallus caninus. However, it would be nice if you also added some references for where your information comes from. In case you're not familiar with how in-line references work, read this: Wikipedia:Footnotes. It boils down to adding references like in this example:
- In 1758, Linnaeus first named this species Boa canina.<ref name="McD99">McDiarmid RW, Campbell JA, Touré T. 1999. Snake Species of the World: A Taxonomic and Geographic Reference, vol. 1. Herpetologists' League. 511 pp. ISBN 1-893777-00-6 (series). ISBN 1-893777-01-4 (volume).</ref>
Later, reuse of this reference elsewhere in the article is easy, for example:
- Ten years later, Laurenti named it Boa thalassina.<ref name="McD99"/>
When you're finished (or if you preview the entire article), your reference will show up in the References section near the bottom of the article.
Really, these references are very important. I know that you you have loads of experience when it comes to these snakes, but if nobody can verify your information, {{fact}} and {{cite}} tags will eventually show up in the article and ultimately your contributions will be replaced, perhaps even with information that is further from the truth. If repeatedly typing out all these reference sounds like a lot of work, it really isn't. I made a big list of references like the one above just once and keep them in a text file on my file server. Every time I need to add them to a new article, I just copy and paste! Cheers, --Jwinius (talk) 00:59, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
WikiProject Amphibians and Reptiles: Rollcall
[edit]At WikiProject Amphibians and Reptiles, we recently did a purge of the members list, which your name was on. Please re-add your username as well as your area of expertise at our list of participants if you plan to stay active in this Wikiproject. Also, a discussion is going on regarding the standardization of taxonomy in lizard articles, located in this section. We'd like to have some more voices in this matter. Thanks everyone! bibliomaniac15 23:06, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Red eyed frog oxtoby.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Red eyed frog oxtoby.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:18, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Morelia viridis
[edit]Cheers for the excellent image, I reckoned it to be superior and placed it in the taxobox. I made some other changes and got into an edit conflict with you. I included my changes and attempted to restore your contributions, pls let me know if I stuffed that up. Regards, cygnis insignis 14:48, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:GreenTreepython oxtoby.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:GreenTreepython oxtoby.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:05, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Caninus oxtoby.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Caninus oxtoby.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. J Milburn (talk) 15:25, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

List of linguists
[edit]Hi there Oxtoby, I see you added a name to the list of linguists. Sorry, but I'm afraid it was removed, because Graham P. Oxtoby doesn't have an article on the English Wikipedia. Just wondering, but would this be a reference to you yourself, by any chance? All the best — Mr. Stradivarius ♫ 13:32, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of Shipping agency
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Shipping agency requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.solarnavigator.net/marine_insurance/port_agents.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
