Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in First Sudanese Civil War, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Aasim - Herrscher of Wikis 19:28, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ZHC (YouTuber) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, ZHC (YouTuber), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. A lengthy welcome

[edit]

Hi Owent acc. Welcome to Wikipedia.I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.

If you find yourself in a disagreement with another editor, it's best to discuss the matter on the relevant talk page.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal (talk) 01:15, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome Owent acc!

Hello Owent acc. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

I'm S0091, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

If you need further help, you can:
  Ask a question
or you can:
  Get help at the Teahouse
or even:
Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your userpage.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Sincerely, S0091 (talk) 23:36, 16 April 2022 (UTC)   (Leave me a message)[reply]

Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing inappropriate pages, such as This is a Wikipedia article, is considered vandalism and is prohibited. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 18:43, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I one hundred percent see how this could be vandalism. I was simply intending the page for humor, and from now on will always be here to build an encyclopedia. Owent acc (talk) 18:48, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Block message:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Wasdfkilplimkricklicary". The reason given for Wasdfkilplimkricklicary's block is: "Vandalism".

Decline reason: Please explain to us your relationship with the blocked user, who is interacting (quite unpleasantly) with you. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 18:41, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea as to who the user is, or how they were editing on my IP address, but naturally, I was immediately mad at this person. Again, I was not behind any of the edits on the other account. You can treat this as another unblock request Owent acc (talk) 19:05, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not credible. I'd have turned a blind eye if you had only attacked yourself, perhaps even together with Special:Diff/1085333086, but not with Special:Diff/1085335040.
Users can happen to share the same IP address for various reasons, and users can happen to notice each others' edits within seconds, but when these two unlikely situations appear in combination and you allegedly do not even have an "idea" who the user is, the probability of you saying the truth is close enough to zero to justify a block.
For someone so new to user warnings that they don't yet know about the templates Wikipedia offers for this task, you've been incredibly fast at noticing the edit at Erre ([1]), reverting it ([2]), and warning the user with a custom message ([3]). Sure, that's possible! But this is your only antivandalism edit in a long period of time, and it then happens to trigger an autoblock? And you have "no idea" why?
I'd start a sockpuppet investigation, but you have practically already checkuser-confirmed yourself. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
