Image copyright problem with Image:Setanta_OhAilpin.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Setanta_OhAilpin.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 18:29, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi mate, I suggest you join WikiProject AFL if you love your footy, and also take a look at Category:Carlton Blues players and the Portal:Australian rules football. Drop us a line with any questions mate. Cheers, Rogerthat Talk 08:56, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Nice work
[edit]Nicely done on all these Blues articles in particular mate. Keep up the good work mate, and be sure to spread the word of WP:AFL. Rogerthat Talk 07:20, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

West Coast Eagles players
[edit]thats a damn good effort adding all those West Coast player articles. how did you make them only a few minutes apart? Remy B 02:50, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
I used a template and a couple of sites with the stats on them, then added the new information onto the template for each player. Takes longer for players that have been to 2 or more clubs. Orichalcon 02:52, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Nice
[edit]I see you've been told this before, but excellent work on the players for the AFL WikiProject. Sambo2612 13:41, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
How to fix the template "Infobox afl player" bug
[edit]Hi,
The template "Infobox afl player" you use has currently a bug for the "careerhighlights=" section, which, I see, obliged you to use a BR kludge, such as:
| careerhighlights= <BR> * Brisbane Lions Rising Star Nomination 2001 * Brisbane Lions Best First Year Player 2001
Two informations that would be useful for your work:
1) As a temporary kludge, you can have a better result with the infamous NOWIKI kludge:
| careerhighlights= <nowiki></nowiki> * Brisbane Lions Rising Star Nomination 2001 * Brisbane Lions Best First Year Player 2001
The difference being that you won't have an empty line any more between the blue header and the bulletted list of highlights. I have used it on Robert Copeland for instance, cf. the new page code.
2) As a permanent fix, see the code for the Template:Infobox Album, which had the very same bug for years (in its bulletted "Professional reviews" section). It was fixed some months ago (see the template's code, or I think it was [[1]] who found the trick), so the solution exists. Fixing your template the same way they fixed their, would allow you to get a perfect result with just the plain code:
| careerhighlights= * Brisbane Lions Rising Star Nomination 2001 * Brisbane Lions Best First Year Player 2001

Humourous
[edit]"Australian's spell it humourous"... Not according to my best researches. See [2]. Thanks for your interest. --Spellmaster 15:46, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
- I, and everyone else I've known has always spelled it "humourous". So I guess you can bite my arse on that one. It's the Australian spelling, regardless of whether it's in your little american or british dictionaries. Orichalcon 16:24, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
- You may want to see a copy of the Macquarie Dictionary, the standard Australian reference dictionary, which lists "humorous" as being correct, or User talk:Spellmaster. It is very unlikely indeed that I would want to "bite your arse", and Wikipedia does not use how you and everybody else you know spells words as a standard, but prefers to go with verifiable references. Best wishes, --Guinnog 01:30, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

CFC GF's
[edit]Yeah, the team lists probably don't need to go on the Carlton page. Since there is an article on the 1945 VFL Grand Final, I think grand finals can warrant their own wiki page - but they'd need a bit more info than just Carlton's team list (which could be hard for say, the 1906 premiership). Hello, Orichalcon. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Freespace2 shivan.png) was found at the following location: User:Orichalcon. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 04:39, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Junoreactor shango.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Junoreactor shango.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:37, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Freespace2 shivan.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Freespace2 shivan.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:52, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Fevprofile.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 09:09, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Billyconnollywtoabrett.PNG}
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Billyconnollywtoabrett.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Antipodes
[edit]I know it was a long, long, long time ago, but your comment on the Perth Talk page about the antipodes of Perth being New Mexico, not the Bahamas was wrong. 115E is opposite 65W, not 115W, as it starts from 0 and increases in both directions, hence you need to subtract your longitude from 180 to find the antipode... think of Paris at about 5E... opposite is 175W, not 5W! Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Orichalcon! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 244 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag.
