I'm a "someone must have written about you" man. Not mentioned in passing, but really written about you. Does your media coverage include an actual profile, or merely a passing mention? If you've been profiled, you're already notable enough for me. If not, you've got nothin'. Sooner or later David Black will put out a new edition of An Index to Parliamentary Candidates in Western Australian Elections. But I fear you will be merely listed there, rather than written about.

Music is a dead end. No-one writes about B-grade and flash-in-the-pan musicians. But writers fall over themselves to write about other writers, historians love to write biographies of other historians, and every obituarist gets an obituary. I think your local history publication is the way to go. But becoming a published author doesn't mean jack - even if you get an independently published review, your publication will be notable and you will not! This is what you need to do: when you get published, offer the local rag an interview, then give the reporter minimal information on the publication and go on and on about your life story; insist on talking about yourself in minute and longwinded detail. When your reporter tries to write the story up, they will be forced to take a "who is the author and what makes them tick" line, giving you a reliable 3rd party source for a biography.

"Music is a dead end". I hadn't appreciated it until recently, but its massive. There are untold editors churning out articles on barely notable bands and albums by their thousands. The thing is, these editors and the articles they write don't overlap into more mainstream editing all that often so we (well me anyway) can be become a bit oblivious to it. Oh becoming a local political figure with significant press coverage is my aim, not my achievement to date :P (I was citing that as an impedance to Wikiglory, might need to make that a bit clearer) The music bit, I was more pointing out how weak the MUSIC guideline is, basically you just have to do one thing (which can usually be organised by careful planning) and you're all set to go. :) Oh and I'll have to remember that biography trick.
