Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in Westfest, makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 00:23, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article Maple Sugar Festival has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:10, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Rideau Canal Festival, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.ottawafestivals.ca/tag/rideau-canal-festival. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. I have looked at Rideau Canal Festival and have confirmed that there is a copyright violation. Also, Wikipedia does not try to cover everything. Topics to be covered should meet Wikipedia's Notability guideline. This means the topic should be described in impartial reliable sources. You should give credit to your sources, but paraphrase the information from those source in your own words.
However the article turns out (or doesn't), I hope you enjoyed the festival. Jc3s5h (talk) 23:22, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Response moved here from User talk:Jc3s5h:
Ont2010 Brought here from a recent message on an entry. Ont2010 entered information for Rideau Canal Festival. None of this was taken from the website you pointed out. I believe this festival is notable enough for Wikipedia. It centres around a UNESCO world heritage site in Ottawa, Canada's capital and is a tourist attraction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ont2010 (talkcontribs) 00:14, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Rideau Canal Festival meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rideau Canal Festival. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last seven days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Jc3s5h (talk) 19:30, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Festival Franco Ontarien has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No notability established

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A. B.
