User talk:Onomatopoeia/Archive 4
Hi! I have gone about my usual gnoming, as well as reorganised some content. Let's hope it passes. Chensiyuan 08:31, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
gotta love your massive rewrites. i've done the customary, and i think it's even stronger than the Auerbach article, so let's hope it passes. Chensiyuan 06:28, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- well unfortunately the same editor who was up in arms during the Michael Jordan FAC has failed the article for "hyperbolic" prose. Chensiyuan 07:52, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Feedback left on your page. Well, there are always 2nd, 3rd and 17th attempts. Onomatopoeia 08:10, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- I don't agree with his review but have toned down the relevant parts a little -- there was never anything to fix but I suppose moderation generates less quibbles. Chensiyuan 13:27, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Manu Ginóbili
[edit]If you're interested, you can pop by this article to see what can be done to improve it. I've done what I could and am running dry of ideas. It still suffers from some problems but I think it's a very possible GAC. Once you're done with Cousy and Magic of course. Chensiyuan 02:42, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- I could look into it after Magic and possibly Cooz. —Onomatopoeia 14:03, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for helping out. Now that Magic has passed, here's hoping Bob Cousy gets the stamp too. Will head over to Cousy soon. I will probably nominate Manu in a few days' time. Chensiyuan 12:31, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ginobili's undergone GA review and put on hold by Tonythetiger... notes on talkpage. If you're free, would appreciate help sorting out his concerns. Thanks, Chensiyuan 15:22, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for helping out on those refs. It's gotten a pass now, we've got Spurs all over the project page for GAs LOL. Chensiyuan 14:52, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, need your help on a little something. Have gotten into a rather mindless dispute with a newbie who's absolutely making rubbish claims. See here -- basically, I put up a picture of a beach resort in St Lucia on the St Lucia page and he's gone on to make a dozen groundless accusations against me and another editor. If you could please inject some objectivity into the discussion it would be much appreciated. Chensiyuan 13:17, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Hello there! You nominated Emma Watson for good article status. I put the GAC on hold and have left comments on the talk page. Cliff smith 04:46, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Just so you know, Emma Watson is a GA now. You did a great job with it. Cheers, Cliff smith 23:54, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
One suggestion I'd make during your current bout of editing is to lose the biography heading, and just create one section all about her Harry Potter work. I mean I just hate it when "Biography" is a heading: isn't that what the article is? Alientraveller 20:10, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]Just saw the barnstar -- thanks, it's greatly appreciated. It's been great working together. Chensiyuan 11:42, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Flickr images & Wikipedia (copied info)
[edit]Hi there, what is the 101 on flickr images? How do I know if I can copy them to Wikipedia Commons, and what license(s) is/are needed? Thanks for reading. —Onomatopoeia 09:23, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Some of the most popular licenses that are acceptable are CC-BY, CC-BY-SA, GFDL, GPL, and Free Art License (as well as public domain materials). You can get more detailed information from the Commons licensing page. --Sopoforic 09:46, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Big Fundamental
[edit]Right, I'd try looking for sources on those points you raised. Chensiyuan 23:38, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Great that you found the ref on the plantar, but I haven't found anything about his injury during the 2005 Finals (had read every report on the official page)... Chensiyuan 08:53, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Got your msg. Well I'm really proud of the facelift performed on the article since we first decided to raid it! Chensiyuan 23:46, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Regarding the FAC, I've tried dealing with Zodiiak's concerns, save one. Do you think the article needs the "other interests" information. They provide variety and interesting information on Duncan but I think the quality of the article won't suffer even with the elimination of that section. Chensiyuan 23:35, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- A book! Alright, heh. Funny how you've got people living in Germany and Singapore working on a guy from the Virgin Islands. Chensiyuan 15:47, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- In case you're wondering how come there's a couple of LOCE people copyediting the Duncan (and Raptors) article, it's because one of them has kindly agreed to comb through the article(s). Hope that tighten things a little. Chensiyuan 08:57, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Dear Ono-whatever
[edit]Do you reckon you could find something on a land called Kezra or an elusive person called Sir H. bel Mareionim? I would go over the moon should you grab something of use. It'd be nice to drop me an email on the_silent_watchers, at yahoo.com. Thanks and thanks urgean(Irish? maybe)Thol Garanin 20:15, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

re:Tom Felton, GAC (?)
[edit]Hi there, thanks for your help! I forgot to add the tag to the talk page after listing Tom Felton at GAC. It was so kind of you to help me fix the mess and add the article to the project page. Also, your work on Emma Watson and Hermione Granger is wonderful, my congrats on getting the articles to GA status. Have a beautiful week, PeaceNT 06:39, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Potter re-working
[edit]Exceptionally well-done. I will tweak a bit in the morning, but an outstanding effort! :) - Arcayne (cast a spell) 06:35, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! That was a REAL big one, a LOT of cruft to be killed. Hope it becomes a GA. —Onomatopoeia 06:36, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- You hope? An article that good doesn't have to hope... congratulations Judgesurreal777 07:07, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! :) —Onomatopoeia 08:19, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

I have reviewed the article, and have put in on hold. The comments are on the talkpage. Please note, that this is my first ever GA review, so if I have put something that you 100% disagree with, don't bother bashing me, because I'm new to the review process. Davnel03 17:26, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- Passed. Well done. Davnel03 11:36, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
VC for Canada
[edit]I listed it for review just as you put the note on my talk page. In this case, i can understand why he did it, i just think it was unfair. Woodym555 10:41, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for everything
[edit]Dear Onomatopoeia(You see, I can write your name now; and excuse me for writing '-whatever' instead of the rest of this respectable name!) ,
I've got some material on this guy( Sir H. bel Mareioneim ), but all these material are two old - or calcified, t'be honest - books in an English with somewhat archaic words, and a language I believe to be Breton, hence not available to be given references to as citations. As a rather full-time shepherd, I've no time to itch my head, and I'm also dreadfully new to wikipedia. Thanks again for your toils - however thankless! Thol Garanin 16:31, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
GA/R of Red Auerbach
[edit]Hello. I noticed the article at the GA/R page, recognized your name, and decided to check it out. It looks good, but I'd just like to make a little comment on the Notes section and References section. The only thing presently in the References section is what appears to be an inline citation, only it's got a bullet point and isn't inline. I'd suggest turning it into an actual inline citation and retitle "Notes" as References. Cliff smith 23:51, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- Dude, chill. --Jayron32|talk|contribs 00:57, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- It was just a suggestion. Cliff smith 01:11, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ha. I don't think he was referring to you, Cliff. I believe that was a reply to Onomatopoeia's comments at GA/R, OhanaUnited editor review, and at least one project talk page. Lara♥Love 15:56, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- It was just a suggestion. Cliff smith 01:11, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Hmm. I guess in hindsight I guess to be safe it would be better to inform the article writers directly like the custom of doing so for WP:FAR. Even then many guys don't read the FAR instructions and SandyGeorgia or Marskell have to do the notes. But on the other hand GA/C/R is supposed to be easy come, easy go on principle. But I can understand it might be interpreted as a bit of a slap in the face for an established contributor. I don't think OU meant it in bad faith at all, he's a good guy. I have at times ripped off four GAs without even a prior notice, so perhaps I should take it a bit easy, those were Naseem Ashraf (BLP/POV tabloid), Fatima Jinnah Dental College (no proper sources whatsoever), Bali Nine (BLp violations: unsourced allegations of drug dealing) and Fremantle Prison (sources). I guess playing it safe and taking things a bit slow might have made things a little better but I don't think that there is a major issue. I'm surprised you don't watchlist everything. I separately watchlist User:Blnguyen/Contributions for my major article contribs. That way I don't miss it among all the other not so important articles that I maintain. But overall I think you guys have been doing a good job on improving the articles so you should worry about that because that's what keeps you happy. I think you seem to have distracted yourselves a little by getting too stressed about minor procedural things which you don't view as ideal. Fixing up the issues with the articles is a lot more important, enjoyable and rewarding. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 05:45, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- OK I admit being a bit worked up, but I stand by my words, and I never did any WP:NPA thingies here. —Onomatopoeia 07:44, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Just take a look at this, and you will know what to do...perhaps, when you have time, you should Harry Potterize it and make it amazing! I don't even know where to begin with it. If you fix it, I'll make sure it stays that way! Judgesurreal777 20:51, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

To Onomatopoeia for taking the initiative to begin the Snowbirds Don't Fly article. It's an important piece of comics history that newer readers need to know about, and the article is off to a great start. Doczilla 07:22, 16 October 2007 (UTC)) |
Fair use rationale for Image:Uxannual1.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Uxannual1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 10:32, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
