hey

article choice

[edit]

I love Nefriti, but she lived before the concept of "race" as we think of it today, existed. It will be difficult to incorporate a discussion of race into your contributions. We can talk more specifically about how you could go about choosing a topic for your contributions. I'm on campus Monday, or we could meet before of after class on Thursday DaneAmanda (talk) 20:04, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I hope that it is clear that this article is not about the race of Ancient Egyptians, it is a history/summary of the controversy. One problem with this article is keeping it from being treated as though it is actually about the "race" of Ancient Egyptians. Too many editors ignore the sentence at the top of the article, "This article is about the "history of the controversy" about the race of the ancient Egyptians. For discussion of the scientific evidence relating to the race of the ancient Egyptians, see Population history of Egypt." Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 15:21, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article Choice and Improvements

[edit]

First off, I would like to say that you have chosen an excellent topic. I am sure many can relate to this issue and will find this topic interesting. One thing that I would suggest is that you include a sub-heading on the intersectionality of race and gender. I am currently taking the class Introduction to Gender, Sexualities, and Justice Studies. With that being said, I have learnt that race is only an isolated fact about us - our identities intersect with other factors including gender. It would strengthen your article to include more information on this subject. --Criticalracetheorist1 (talk) 17:05, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
