Haw

[edit]

Hi,

What does the word Haw mean in the text you added to Islam in Thailand? I believe the meaning you intend is not yet covered by the disambiguation page Haw.

Meedhoo in the Maldives

[edit]

I saw that you did the original Maldives article, so I thought you might be willing to take a look at Meedhoo. It was an article I spotted on the new articles list, and it needed a lot of work. I've taken a good crack at it, but its not an area I know anything about. I toned down the extremely npov text that I started from, but I don't know how much the claims of the importance of its religious scholarship, in particular, are justified. Atheist?

Calling yourself an atheist is a bad way of hiding the fact that you are an Islamic Fundamentalist. —This unsigned comment was added by 130.203.202.156 (talkcontribs) .

Possible vandalism. He faked the reason for the edit in the edit history as well. I wanted to notify you of this, and I want you to decide whether or not to keep or delete it. Kirbytime 20:45, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

lots of edits, not an admin

[edit]

Hi - I made a list of users who've been around long enough to have made lots of edits but aren't admins. It looks like you're not active anymore, but if you come back and are at all interested in becoming an admin, can you please add an '*' immediately before your name in this list? I've suggested folks nominating someone might want to puruse this list, although there is certainly no guarantee anyone will ever look at it. I've marked you on this list as "inactve". Feel free to update this as well. Thanks. -- Rick Block (talk) July 3, 2005 18:18 (UTC)

Hello. On Nov. 1, 2004 you wrote something on the Allah page about a Christian inscription using Allah. Can you give me your source? A friend of mine doesn't believe it--and he has been there. You can e-mail me from my user page.

I think this may be yours, and its aboput to be deleted because of no source. If you know where it came from, I would very much apreciate if you wrote that on its page. Thanks. Bawolff 19:29, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Papua, Indonesian province.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Papua, Indonesian province.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 17:03, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Papua, Indonesian province.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Papua, Indonesian province.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Angr 17:04, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Abbasid Provinces during the caliphate of Harun al-Rashid.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Abbasid Provinces during the caliphate of Harun al-Rashid.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:15, 12 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 16:15, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Talk:Anti-Islamic sentiment and positions/Archive 1, by 72.88.153.67 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Talk:Anti-Islamic sentiment and positions/Archive 1 fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

talk page of deleted article

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Talk:Anti-Islamic sentiment and positions/Archive 1, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:06 sugarray 250s.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:06 sugarray 250s.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:13, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Robert Reynolds (journalist)

[edit]

I have nominated Robert Reynolds (journalist), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Robert Reynolds (journalist). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello OneGuy! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Richard Gizbert - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Jasim Al-Azzawi - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

AfD nomination of Nuh Ha Mim Keller

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Nuh Ha Mim Keller. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nuh Ha Mim Keller (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:12, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Bachchan, Amitabh, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts

[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/OneGuy, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Please look. Bertsaeedd (talk) 01:55, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
