Meenas
[edit]Hi, I have reverted your contribution at Meenas because there is a consensus that adding varna to the infobox or to the lead section of an article more often than not just leads to problems. The issue is rarely straightforward and is better dealt with in the body of the article. I know that you are new, so please do not panic - you are not being "told off" or anything like that. I am just telling you how the community has decided to deal with this tricky issue. - Sitush (talk) 17:38, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Caste articles
[edit]You might not be aware of the disruption that has been afflicting the various caste article over the past year or so, of the numerous disruptive editors who have been blocked, of the various discussions that we have had at WP:ANI and other forums, or of the zero-tolerance approach that the community has decided to follow by consensus. It is outlined in the following warning. Making accusations of bias or other bad faith allegations against other editors falls outside of the expected standards of behavior alluded to below. Please be very careful not to transgress...

[edit]Hello, I'm Sitush. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Meena without thoroughly explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, you can use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! - My apologies. You did explain why but I'm afraid that your rationale doesn't really work. There are lots of very poor sources from the British Raj period - James Tod, Aiyer's The Tamils 180 Years Ago, etc - and we tend not to use them. The quote from Britannica was added by someone without actually providing a citation for it - it took me less than a minute to find the thing & fix that issue. Britannica is not a favourite source of mine but it does suffice. - Sitush (talk) 12:29, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
Please see a notice that I left for you at on my talk page in response to your comment there. You should cease reverting at Meenas and wait for consensus on the talk page. The WP:Edit warring policy allows blocks for edit warring, and WP:GS/Caste provides special sanctions for inappropriate editing of caste articles. Caste articles have been subject to weakly-sourced promotional editing for a long time. The way for you to get changes made is to show that sound scholarship is behind your material.
