[edit]Salu. Thanks for your message on my talk, but I don't know what you are talking about. On another note, I've seen that you have posted to a bunch of (random?) users. This is not such a good idea. People might see this as wiki-"spam". --Ligulem 22:30, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
I can only try to give some general advice. Arbitration is done by the Arbitration Comittee, but this the very last step for very tough disputes. There are many other steps that must be tried first. I know it is not easy for a newcomer. Lots of things look very complicated here ;-). The important thing is to stay friendly and try to discuss things with others. See also Wikipedia:Consensus (not an easy task!). A good help is also to assume good faith — sometimes we all make errors and there might be misunderstandings. I haven't looked into what kind of problem you have, so I can't comment on anything. Another possibility would be to ask for the help of a mediator. But this is also for already rather difficult to solve situations. Try to talk first and be patient. And if you do feel too much stress, try leaving the issue away for a day or two. And for a newbie: maybe staying away from disputes and working on something else could help too. Just some rough thoughts. --Ligulem 23:10, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
I don't have the kind of French experience necessary to do an adequate job on the French School article. In fact, French School should be handled by those who are really experienced on the issues of the French Grammatical Society (I can't remember the official name, but they are the ones that create the rules of the language every year).--Zaphnathpaaneah 09:25, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Regardless of the accusations Madman and you are throwing at each other, I have to stress the fact that there are other people asking you in a polite way to explain further explain your claims. Simply saying "it's written there and it's your fault if you don't understand it" will not solve the dispute and may lead other editors to believe you are not willing compromise. Thus I strongly encourage you to engage in the article's talk page discussion and solve this dispute in the most civil way possible. -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ 10:47, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Olmec changes
[edit]Discussion of Olmec influences on Mesoamerican cultures has been moved to a separate article where there is a full discussion of Magni's theory. Please add any additional supported information there. The Olmec article, however, is a general article and it is not the place for a detailed discussion. Thank you, Madman 03:25, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Richard Ayoun, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.alfassa.com/blog/2008/06/prof-richard-ayoun-ah-sephardi.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 00:34, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 21:56, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
