Peer Review "Look What You Made Me Do"

[edit]

Hello, before I begin, I would like to say that your addition to the article adds some context needed to understand what happened leading up to the release of her Reputation album. Here is my peer review for your sandbox draft and what it adds to your article:

Lead

This section that your addition is under establishes the context of the album, which is very relevant. The lead section references speculation that this track was in response to controversies, but I wonder if there needs to be a more specific note there since the "Background and Release" portion is somewhat extensive. This, of course, is not relevant to your current contribution, but it is perhaps something you could build on later.

Content

As for the actual content within what you added, like I said previously, it adds needed context. The events discussed led to the snake motif within the Reputation album, so it feels relevant to establish those events in more detail. Your brief statement provided an event that transpired at that time that led to the snake image being used against Swift, clarifying a reason many fans of Kanye and Kim felt they could post the snake image.

Tone and Balance

Your additions also retains an appropriate sense of neutrality. By using phrasing such as "Swift said" and "seemingly consented," you merely report the events and what allegedly occurred according to the artists, not taking a stance so as to avoid bias.

Sources and References

As for your source, while I did not see it in your sandbox draft, I did find it within the article itself. Unfortunately, I do not have a subscription to the service, so I cannot comment on its reliability. However, since it appears to be an interview, it appears you utilized an appropriate source to reference what Taylor Swift said about the matter.

Organization

My main concern with the article is the organization of this section. This is not only your work, but it could be something to consider as you move forward with your editing. As I read the section you contributed to, your paragraph makes sense. In the previous paragraph of the section, however, I felt the transition from her 1989 success to her increased media scrutiny and controversies felt somewhat abrupt, and I had to read it a few times for it to wholly make sense.

Overall Impressions

Overall, I think your brief additions added excellent context to the album the song was in. It is neutral but helpful to understanding the controversy. Moving forward, I think it would be helpful to address some of the organization and lead to be more specified and clear to the reader.
