[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article about yourself, at Draft:Francis E. Waive. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Your username
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Frankwaive", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because usernames which appear to be related to a specific identifiable person (such as the person who you're trying to create an about at Draft:Francis E. Waive) may run afoul of WP:REALNAME and in some cases such accounts be soft-blocked as a precaution against damaging impersonation. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:12, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- FrankWaive has conformed that he is the son of the person the draft article is about: Francis E. Waive. David notMD (talk) 01:34, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Hi Frankwaive. If as you state at WP:THQ#Re-Francis E. Waive that Draft:Francis E. Waive is your father, then there a couple of issues you will need to resolve. The first has to do with your choice of username. If your name is also "Frank Waive" (for example, "Frank Waive Jr."), then you can use your WP:REALNAME as your username if you want, but doing so may just create confusion and cause others to mistake you for your father. So, you might want to consider slightly changing your username in some way to make it clear that you are not "Frank Waive" the subject of the draft, but rather his son. If, on the other hand, your name isn't "Frank Waive", then you shouldn't use your fathers name at all for your account name for pretty much the same reasons. The other issue has to do with Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Since you are claiming to be Waive's son, Wikipedia is going to consider you to have a conflict of interest with respect to anything written about him on Wikipedia. Wikipedia doesn't expressly prohibit conflict-of-interest editing, but it highly discourages because it can lead to serious problems. Please familiarize yourself with relevant conflict of interest policies and guidelines so that you're aware of the kind of limitations the Wikipedia community places on such editing. You should also understand that even if you're successful in creating an article about your father, neither you nor he will have any sort of editorial control over the article's content as explained in Wikipedia:Ownership of content. You can continue working on the draft to try and improve it; however, if it's approved as an article, neither you, your father nor anyone connected to your dad should directly edit the article anymore (except in certain specific cases) as explained in WP:PSCOI#Steps for engagement. So, if the article changes to something you don't like or don't approve of, you will be expected, for the most part, to discuss concerns on its corresponding talk page and get others involved in trying to sort things out. Some other stuff you should look at is c:Commons:Licensing because the file you've uploaded as copyright concerns (it's photographer who takes a photo, not the subject of the photo or a family member of the subject of a photo who is considered to be the copyright holder) and also WP:MULTIPLE if you're the same editor who's trying to also create Draft:Francis Ejiroghene Waive. Wikipedia doesn't need two drafts be written about the same person; so, if this other person isn't you, then perhaps you should try and figure a way to combine both drafts into one. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:38, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
