Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. RE:a little Help

[edit]

Hi there. I checked the edit where you were trying to insert it and see that you got reverted by Cream. I'm not sure why Cream reverted the edit instantly, as it was not vandalism. The only issue may be that it is not exactly the best idea to write a media section devoted to one show. Why not do a little more digging and discover other shows that feature being Muslim in Canada? Another recommendation I would have is to make sure your edit has a neutral point of view. The parts of your edit that struck more as an opinion was these two sentences:

"The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has developed a fare amount of programing that shares a unique perspective of live as an Muslim in Canada."

and

"Iranian-born filmmaker Saide Kardar takes us into Toronto's Muslim community in Home Grown Muslims and provides viewers with a provocative and candid look at the conflict of identity among young Muslims living in Canada."

Clean up the tone of them by removing the "us"'s as well as comments like "unique," "provocative," and "candid." If the edit gets reverted once more, try the article talk page and request the opinion of other editors of whether it would be a good addition. The best way to make an edit "stick" is to collaborate with the other prominent editors of the article.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 02:01, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Canvassing

[edit]

I see you've been leaving messages about the Nelson Chan AfD. Please read WP:CANVAS and be careful of your wording. Also, you didn't respond on my talk page - what do you mean by "vandalism battle"? Delicious carbuncle (talk) 14:09, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Delicious carbuncle, please can we stop Wikipedia:No angry mastodons, and just allow things to progress. peace???

please Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers--Oingoboing69 (talk) 15:09, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise if you feel like I was "biting" you or being uncivil - that's not at all my intention. Please answer my question, though, because I honestly don't know what you meant by "vandalism battle" and I think you may misunderstand why I nominated the article for AfD. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:22, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Delicious carbuncle , I just left you a message on your user talk. - cut and pasted back from your page.
Im sorry I missed your message, I read on your comments (→Nelson Chan: this is starting to irritate me), so I just wanted to reframe from esculating anything. just trying to resolve a [[trying to resolve a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest]] and Wikipedia:Assume good faith  :)--Oingoboing69 (talk) 15:29, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've already replied on my talk page with a question. It would be nice if we could do this in one place or the other. You choose which. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:45, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Delicious carbuncle let stay here then, as I've mentioned to User talk:Toddst1
It's not that I wish these Articles to be taken away, ( I'm speaking about Justin Stephenson,Oli Goldsmith. Nelson Chan), It's just seems odd that it was always focused and revolved around one particular Article. I just want to these HArd working Artists to be reckonized.

Thanks..(I'll put it infront of my sig this time.)--Oingoboing69 (talk) 23:40, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just wish to procede onwards with this article or it would be Wikipedia:Disruptive editing and have a Wikipedia:Dispute resolution--Oingoboing69 (talk) 18:32, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I just reviewed some dialog on User talk:Delicious carbuncle, Talk:Nelson_Chan and this page. Can I make a suggestion? You might want to cut carbuncle some slack. He or she seems to be trying hard to do the right thing for wikipedia, and frankly he/she seems to be trying to talk to you respectfully. Accusing him/her of misbehavior like this and reposting it here isn't really constructive and will only lead to further ill feelings. In fact, some of the stuff you have said could be considered a personal attack. I doubt that's how you meant it. Don't take his (or my) position on this article personally. I'm assuming you're not Chan and don't have any COI here so that shouldn't be a problem. I hope this helps. Toddst1 (talk) 20:36, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I suspect that this and this are the reasons you have been warned to be careful not to canvass. Those messages were pretty close to campaigning but I don't think you went far enough for an official warning, nor do I think User:Delicious carbuncle intended to give an official warning, just a friendly notice to a new user about the Canvassing policy. As WP:CANVASS says, you need to be careful to be open and unbiased and not campaign for people to vote. A friendly query to a user or two who you think may be able to help you improve the article is fine as is an open notice about the discussion to users on both sides of the issue as I did here.

In order for this article to meet Wikipedia content policies, it should meet the WP:BIO guidelines and include independent, reliable sources. I don't see how any of the references you have meet those guidelines and I am sure that you appreciate that it is particularly important that biographies of living people have verifiable, reliable sources of information. Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL. Cheers! DoubleBlue (Talk) 21:38, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Toddst1 and (Doubleblue)

I will Procede with Addtions to verify the Nelson Chan Article, then onwards with Michael Kuss and Chris Potter. Please Advise on how we can better and sustain these Articles.

I assume you are capable of editing the article during semi-protection - if not, let me know. I would start with finding at least one very WP:Reliable source that covers this individual in depth. I mean read what it says in WP:Reliable. If you can't find one that solidly fits the bill (IMDB doesn't cut it) stop there. If you do find one, add it to the article as support of WP:Notability. If you do that sucessfully, I will be glad to change my opinion at AfD. Do NOT add something that is borderline reliable. Toddst1 (talk) 22:19, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cool thanks Todd, do these serve the purpose.

Thanks for uploading Image:FuumanoKojirouDVDCover.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Orphaned non-free image (Image:SaintSeiyaExcalibur-Cover 1988.jpg)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:SaintSeiyaExcalibur-Cover 1988.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Non-free rationale for File:Nelson Chan-Tales-of-the-baroness-b.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Nelson Chan-Tales-of-the-baroness-b.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
