Those "votes" on the HornFans talk page were actually about a {{db-web}} or {{prod}} posted back in December. No one was trying to vote on the AfD there (yet). *Mishatx*-In\Out 05:22, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your support of the article. It blew me away that an entry on the company would be deleted as "non-notable". It blew me away further when I read the "endorse deletion" replies and reasoning (to cut the endorsers some slack). It blew my socks off to discover that the article had actually been speedy deleted, which takes two parties. No wonder it never turned up on my watchlist, and I only discovered the deletion months later. (I still wonder what needed "improving"?)
I'm hoping to add more (like pictures) to it soon, and if I turn up press references (besides the online one, which I had to wade through literally dozens of online catalog pages to find... and this still wasn't "notable"?!), those will go in as well. (If they don't get dismissed as "original research", since somebody had to ask about them.) I'm hoping someone else will add even more. – This one had the personnel at our local Sam Ash and Guitar Center rather surprised, even if nobody had seen a recent news story. An important letter
[edit]Dear roads editor,
You may have noticed some changes at WP:USRD lately. Some of them, like the cleanup templates and the stub templates, have been astounding and great. Unfortunately, others have been disturbing.
This has become evidenced by the departure of a few prominent editors at USRD, a few RFC's, and much fighting among USRD editors.
After the second RFC, many of us found the opportunity to take a step away from Wikipedia for a while--as a self-imposed wikibreak, or possibly on vacation.
The result of such introspection was that many of us were placing ourselves in a "walled garden" and on a self-imposed pedestal of authority over the roads department. Also, we were being hostile to a few users who were not agreeing with us.
In fact, IRC has been the main incarnation of this "walled garden." Decisions have been made there to conduct grudges and prejudices against a few valued USRD users with poor justification.
For this, we have come to apologize. We have come to ask your forgiveness.
In addition to this, we hope to work as one USRD team from now on and to encourage cooperation instead of the promotion of interests.
All users are welcome to collaborate on IRC, the newsletter, or anywhere else at USRD.
In the future, please feel free to approach us about any issues you may have.

- Please update your information at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Participants, our new centralized participant list. Those who have not done so by October 20th will be removed.
- There are important discussions taking place at WT:USRD relating to whether WP:USRD, WP:HWY, or the state projects should hold the "power" in the roads projects.

Vega
[edit]Thanks for the input. I returned the lead to a shortened version of the lead used during last article discussion as per your suggestion to eliminate several paragraphs..please check it. Chevrolet Vega. (Now it looks like other Wikipedia article's auto lead paragraphs). If you think anything else is not needed in the lead, please advise. There have been two huge discussions (now archived-one in Project Automobiles (also archived). Many changes and deletions of sections were made as per those discussions. Now that they're over, 842A (normally only) edits the lead...over and over.. He keeps adding the new negative criticism to it with 5 or 6 links in a sentence and renders the article non-neutral than he flags the article. I can't take this guy any more. He initiated the last discussion in Project automobile, then didn't participate. After Users sided with me (no ownership, etc) he added every bad press web link and and negative review he could find..that's fine, and nothing he added was deleted (from the Reception section) The problem is, he wants a lot of it duplicated in the lead with his framings and opinion. Please mention to leave lead as is. It's now the way it was through two discussions, and nobody had a problem with it or made any suggestions about adding or deleting anything to it. It's fine as is. The main problem was the article's size, not its neutrality. I have made three other articles from this one (splits),have followed concensus opinion and have not deleted anyone's contributions or deletions from this article. The large Problems section I added as per a discussion two years ago, and Reception section following it leaves no doubt as to the car's "legacy". Due to the size of the section its easier to read as is..I played with spliting it today for hours but it just becomes harder to navigate through the entries. The section is easy to navigate, is in order by date and is presented with neutrality. That is what's important. This article is neutral and tells the Vega's story quite well without opinions by any Wiki user. A lot of time went into it to keep it neutral. It's the only place where ALL the factual information is presented on the subject, good and bad, in a neutral way. I have to admit I kept the internet bashing article reviews and polls out; 842A put them into Reception recently...I haven't deleted anything, but I added some actual criticism on the car by the auto press, as the internet articles don't really discuss the car in a neutral, informative way, only retrospectively, so now there is criticism as discussed then and now and the praise is there which is never discussed. Please advise 842A in the Vega discussion to leave the lead as is because he will only change it back. He just doesn't get it, that's it's only supposed to be an introduction or overview. Please reply to my talk page. And Thanks. (Barnstarbob (talk) 00:10, 15 April 2011 (UTC))
- Help! please advise under Vega discussion in reference to your lead suggestions and tag. Thanks.(Barnstarbob (talk) 02:56, 15 April 2011 (UTC))
RfC at Chevrolet Vega
[edit]This is to notify you that an RfC has been opened regarding proposed edits in Chevrolet Vega. The discussion is located here.
- You star, thanks. You can work out the "For" statement via talk pages, or just be BOLD and work it out iteratively.
My thoughts are that in these respects, the Vega article should be significantly edited: it should reflect clearly the Vega's legacy, it's role in the US auto industry and it's marred track record. It should be considerably more concise. It should rely less on fan trivia and less than transparent sources. And it should include less of one editors photographs, personal vehicles and promo photos from General Motors. That's the basic thrust for me. 842U (talk) 21:34, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Please verify your thoughts in the discussion, that the article is neutral, well researched and is not in need of a re-write. 842U's failure of making major changes without group approval first has lead to a complaint issued by me and a resulting lock on the editing. Thanks(Barnstarbob (talk) 01:19, 10 May 2011 (UTC))
