Looks good

[edit]

This article seems to be well-structured to its purpose. Once the remaining sections are filled in with introductory content, I would say "launch!" I wish I knew enough about these refined topics to contribute at a confident level. —  Stevie is the man!  Talk | Work 01:14, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

All that is really needed for an umbrella article like this is summarizing each of the respective articles - I'm certainly not a political science wonk, although I've read a fair number of general history books, and am quite partial to Gore Vidal's novels, etc. - David Oberst 01:58, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand what you're saying, but summary requires knowledge of what's most important to keep and what could be left out. Before the past couple days, I hadn't given this topic much thought, so I suppose it's a question of how much time would I have to spend on it versus other work I have to do. —  Stevie is the man!  Talk | Work 02:26, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And avoiding the signature police! No problem, I'll finish up the rest of the summaries this weekend - the hardest part will be finding some information on the origin and usage of these. I just want to get a workable overview article up - it seems like it would be a useful "See also" for the main Politics and History stream of articles. The poli-sci geeks can polish and annotate it however they like after that. - David Oberst 02:34, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Have you looked at List of political parties in the United States for material to use? In fact, apparent from that article, this content was ripe for its own article anyway. —  Stevie is the man!  Talk | Work 02:21, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
