Canada

I'd like to take some time to explain why your edits to the article on Canada. The document that was signed July 1, 1867 was not a declaration of independence, it was an agreement for three British colonies to form a "dominion". One of the colonies split into two at that point. The parliament in London was still responsible for passing laws, collecting taxes, military defence (that's the Canadian spelling) and a number of other things. It took decades before Canada was fully independent from the United Kingdom and did not have its own constitution until 1982.

Linking to the current article on the United Kingdom isn't appropriate either as at the time it was United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

While I suspect that you're trying to be helpful, you've been reverted on this at least twice so it's probably time to stop or take your concerns to the article's talk page. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:34, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Australia

Please stop linking "Independence" to Federation of Australia at Australia. You've done this three times now,[1][2][3] and each time you have been reverted by a different editor. Federation occurred in 1901, it did not also occur in 1942 and 1986.
