Eight (band)
[edit]Please don't copy and paste material from other websites. Copyright violations are illegal. Zoe (216.234.130.130 22:03, 20 December 2005 (UTC))
It was deleted to remove the copyright violation from the article's history, as is standard Wikipedia policy. Now that the history is clean, you can re-add the article (using your own words). User:Zoe|(talk) 04:24, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
But I removed the copyright content and rewrote it in my own words after I recieved this message... why was it deleted again? --Nzhamstar 04:25, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
I mean the 22:03 message... --Nzhamstar 04:25, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Can you put back the stuff that I rewrote? --Nzhamstar 04:27, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
OK, all of the edits you made after the copyvio are back in the article. User:Zoe|(talk) 04:31, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Thank you --Nzhamstar 20:07, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi Nzhamstar, Eight (band) is looking nice now. Good job! There was a speedy-delete tag on it... it must have been an artifact from before, I removed it. P.S. This is not a huge deal, but if you use the PREVIEW key more instead of the SAVE key, it makes the article history easier for ppl to read and understand. Herostratus 07:37, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Cheers dude, bit new to this huh.. ;) --Nzhamstar 21:25, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Pre-Maori Civilisations
[edit]Just letting you know that I nominated an article you created for deletion. You might like to go to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pre-Maori Civilisations to put your side of the story.-gadfium 18:30, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Damn you wiki-fascists for deleting this article! It's true and you know it is, you only deleted it to be culturally sensitive! Any series of events that points to or suggests an alternative history of a country is encyclopedic! I'm thought wikipedia would be somewhere open and protected from government coverups but no. You're all a bunch of closed minded bullies! --Nzhamstar 19:25, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Swat
[edit]Hi Nzhamstar. On the Swat page you say Samba is used for configuring Samba—do you mean Swat? Barefootguru 04:26, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Yep, fixed it dude.. --Nzhamstar 19:18, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Eighttheband.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Eighttheband.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags.
Image copyright problem with Image:Dope-americanapathy.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Dope-americanapathy.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:25, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
I have removed the old copyright tags and left just the album one in there. Hopefully that should stop it from being deleted. --Nzhamstar 12:06, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Hello, Nzhamstar. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Dope-americanapathy.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Nzhamstar. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 01:05, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Garret-t25g 2.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Garret-t25g 2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Strangerer (Talk) 20:16, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Notability of Gunmetal Grey (band)
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Gunmetal Grey (band), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Gunmetal Grey (band) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Gunmetal Grey (band), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Bodom Covers
[edit]Is this album out as of right now? You put 2007, but not specific release date. Dark Executioner 21:30, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Dark Executioner
I undid my changes... I did another search and couldn't find evidence of that album anywhere but cddb.org and bittorrent search engines. Must be an unofficial release. --Nzhamstar 02:25, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Violations of fair use
[edit]I hope you know that inserting album covers into articles like [1] is considered a violation of fair use. Please see Wikipedia:Non-free content, specifically points #3(a) and #8 on why album covers are not allowed in the article like that. Thank you. — Moe ε 19:57, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
List of Eureka Inventions
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of Eureka Inventions, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of List of Eureka Inventions. Mysdaao talk 14:48, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Dope-americanapathy.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Dope-americanapathy.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it may be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 13:02, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Image:Silvia aero dials.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on Image:Silvia aero dials.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Silvia aero dials.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Vector Arena
[edit]Hello Nzhamstar - you recently added a table to the Vector Arena for the events that have occured there. I am concerned that this will soon blow totally out of size, end up pretty much unreferenced, and provide only a small benefit. Consider how such a table would look like once the arena has existed for some years - it would totally dwarf the article. I hold that we should only list events there if they are IN THEMSELVES notable (i.e. if there is/could be an article about the SPECIFIC show/game, not the band / sports group itself). That would allow a more manageable list. What do you think? Ingolfson (talk) 23:54, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
That is a good idea dude, copied this to the talk page of Vector Arena --Nzhamstar (talk) 14:30, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Info box vs. template
[edit]Greeting, Nzhamstar! I saw your query - and I think what you're looking for is an Infobox, not a template (which is a standard format message to editors and readers). You might want to follow this up if you haven't happened upon this already on your own. Sorry I don't know more myself... Cheers, Deborahjay (talk) 17:25, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:ChoppedTreeStumpFoundInCoburgStreet.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:ChoppedTreeStumpFoundInCoburgStreet.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 20:21, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay
[edit]Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.
Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
