Welcome!

Hello, Nzfooty, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Again, welcome!  -- Longhair | Talk 18:27, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Gidday, I see you're doing great stuff with New Zealand soccer-related articles. Please put a category on articles when you create them, so someone can quickly find all the articles which are related. For most of the articles you are creating, the categories Category:New Zealand soccer, Category:New Zealand soccer players or Category:New Zealand football clubs would appear to be relevant. Also, if you write about a football club or event in a specific city, please add the category for that city, e.g. Category:Auckland. We may later need to make a subcategory of Category:Sport in Auckland if the main category gets too crowded. I've categorised the articles you're created so far.-gadfium 20:21, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A few articles you might to look at

[edit]

Hi Nzfooty! I've just added a handful of articles on some of NZ's players in the 1982 World Cup in Spain. Thought you might like to look over Steve Sumner, Brian Turner (footballer), Steve Wooddin, Frank van Hattum and Richard Wilson (footballer), see if you can add anything (they're pretty stubby at the moment). I'm hoping to add a few more shortly if I get time. Grutness...wha? 10:22, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nzfooty,

Wikipedia:WikiProject Football is starting a football Article Improvement Drive. This is a weekly collaboration to improve football (soccer) articles to featured article status. Articles to be improved can be nominated by registered users, with an explanation of what work is needed. Each Sunday, the article with the most support votes is chosen and then worked on to make it better than what it is. You're invited to take part in the drive, and also join the WikiProject Football. Thanks. -Aabha (talk) 11:00, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've deleted several articles which I've tagged "substub with no indication of importance of the team -" or similar. The lack of context is such that there is no indication what level these teams are, whether professsional league clubs or Sunday morning kick-arounds. I'll stop deleting for the time being to give you a chance to fix, thanks, jimfbleak 07:30, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not querying your intentions - perhaps if you just added the league the teams play in, that would help, otherwise I think it's inevitable that someone will delete these stubs in the absence of a context. Incidentally, you can sign comments on talk pages using four tildes ~~~~ -the softwar will convert this to a name and time like this; jimfbleak 07:44, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you might wish to list new articles you add to this page, several NZers watch it and will often take a look and improve articles as they are added. Also I'm not sure if your articles on individual All whites matches will survive a RFD but you could include a ref to NZ matches in articles like 2006 in New Zealand . I was considering going back through the All Blacks site at one point and including details of every tour in these articles but if you have a good set of info on NZ soccer matches that would be great to add as well. - SimonLyall 09:11, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I’m not sure what I was thinking when I started the individual pages. If they need to be deleted or incorporated into another page, so be it. I realized recently that I won’t have time to do lots of things I wanted to get done due to RL commitments. Nzfooty 11:28, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Andrew Boyens has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt this person might not be notable enough for an article. Please review Wikipedia:Notability (people) for the relevant guidelines. If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" template, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod template, the article will not be deleted, but if an editor is still not satisfied that it meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. NickelShoe (Talk) 00:11, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Steve Yarbrough (wrestling), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. 172.149.114.125 21:23, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. 172.145.161.43 17:25, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Nzfooty! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 42 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Jeff Yoo - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 19:43, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Zhao Zuojun. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Zhao Zuojun has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. NW (Talk) 00:44, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Ashburton (soccer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Adabow (talk) 11:44, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Christchurch High School Old Boys has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I don't see sufficient evidence of notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The article Zhou Liao has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Non-free rationale for File:Waitakere.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Waitakere.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
