User talk:Nvpatentlawyer
Welcome!
Hello, Nvpatentlawyer, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits to the page Polarization have not conformed to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV), and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.
There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! - KrakatoaKatie 00:00, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Promotion of upcoming art show
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Polarization. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.--Srleffler (talk) 15:46, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Pete Bethune. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. YouTube video added was not RS. - You have also made two edits not in compliance with the manual of style. Please see WP:LAYOUT and the links provided above that discuss how to link to sources. Cptnono (talk) 02:33, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- This is also your final warning.[(sunk after a collision) is against the Manual of Style. You need to see the article's talk page and request assistance.Cptnono (talk) 04:21, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Recent "artist" edits
[edit]Your recent edits have added promotional material to polarization (waves), birefringence and cellophane for "contemporary artist Austine Wood Comarow". The added material is based on non-reliable sources. If the artist in question is notable why not first write an article about the artist - and then perhaps add links and info bits to relevant articles based on relevance and significance to the subjects. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Nvpatentlawyer) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.
There are two issues with this:
- It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
- Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.
Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. It seems you fight to not allow us to remove content about certain organizations. Please note that that constitutes a conflict of interest. Jasper Deng (talk) 23:44, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
