RoseHosting moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, RoseHosting, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. noq (talk) 17:31, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the article to draft space as an alternative to nominating for deletion as spam. As it currently exists it is very spammy but the claim to being first Linux VPS provider might be sufficient to make it notable. Please work on it in draft to improve it, removing the content that is not covered by primary sources (including reprinted press releases) and replacing it with content backed by WP:Independent WP:reliable sources. noq (talk) 17:36, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Noq: I have no particular interest in this page, I've just used them for quite a while now and I looked them up on WP and I was surprised they weren't there so I did some research. There is not much more information that I can find, at least not yet, but I did a comparison with some other hosting companies such as SiteGround (I used them as well in the past) and others and they have even less references but looking at the history of those pages they have been up for a very long time. I did some research at archive.org to check and indeed it looks like the claim they make on their website as well as that article I referenced https://www.dailyhostnews.com/the-history-of-web-hosting seems to be true as I am unable to find any other currently operating webhosting company that was offering VPS service or virtual machines in 2001. I also referenced several other articles from industry news outlets. Anyway, I think this page should be allowed to be published as is and perhaps I can add more references later if I find any, especially since most other web hosting company pages have comparably less references than this one. Thanks. Ntrsboy (talk) 18:02, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
RoseHosting had a previous article deleted because it was spammy and that is what caught my attention when it was created. Older pages can be overlooked and if looked at now might well be considered for deletion or cut back. Most of the references in your article are not independent of the subject so cannot be used to establish WP:notability. Press releases are not independent even if they are reprinted in independent news sources, partners are not independent either. Removing those references and very little other than the VPS claim would remain. If you were to submit the article for review as it stands I would be surprised if it was accepted. noq (talk) 18:23, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
