That went quite well and the article has survived its first test - being inspected by the New Page Patrol. The reviewer, Kolbasz, has left templates indicating that there's work to do - adding links to other articles on Wikipedia and citations to external sources. You can easily link words within the article to other pages on Wikipedia by putting them inside square brackets, like so: [[Jordan]] will be shown as Jordan. Please try linking some words in the article to get the hang of that.
Citations of sources can be confusing because there are different styles and preferences. The cleanest style I know uses the short footnote template — {{sfn}}. You can see this being used at a recent creation: Upper Flask. Look at the source of this to see the formatting which was used. The general idea is to list the sources at the foot of the page, as you have done, and then put in citations to particular pages with the {{sfn}} template.
I will be watching over Tall Jawa now and will nominate it for DYK when it has been given a bit more polish. We have 5 days in which to make this nomination and then the review process will take a week or so. As I said, it would be good to get a picture in that time.
If you get stuck or have questions, feel free to send me an email or leave a message on Wikipedia.

- I got your message just now. I've just had a quick look at the citations that you added and they're looking good - well done. I'll give the article some attention myself in a day or two but I need to get to bed now as it's a big day at work tomorrow. And I got sucked into working on another article today - Killiechassie. That one is quite new too so it might be instructive to compare the details of how it has been developed. More anon. Andrew (talk) 21:28, 30 March 2014 (UTC)
The nomination for DYK has now been made as this has to be done within a week of the creation. The review and promotion process could now start at any time so it would be good to get a picture now. Andrew (talk) 07:10, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- I was away for the weekend and am generally busy still. The DYK nomination hasn't moved yet so, if you can get a picture this week, that should be fine. Consult me or Jonathan when you come to upload pictures as this can be quite bureaucratic. I already found some good aerial photos of the site at the Aerial Photographic Archive for Archaeology in the Middle East but, while they have a liberal copyright licence, they reserve some rights and that makes them quite difficult to use here. Andrew (talk) 12:31, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
- The picture looks good and you've done well to get it loaded without trouble. I have updated the DYK nomination to include it. Nobody has looked at it yet but this will happen eventually. Myself, I have updated the way that the {{sfn}} footnotes were being used to consolidate the source descriptions and so simplify the main text. I'll perhaps do more now I've started but have to go out to the library now before it closes. Andrew (talk) 15:28, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
- The nomination has been passed now and so the article will appear on the front page in the DYK section in a few days. You will be notified when this happens but it will only be there for half a day so, if you want to show off the entry, I suggest you take a screen shot while it's there. You can then prove to your friends that your article made the front page of Wikipedia! Andrew (talk) 07:41, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
British Council
[edit]By coincidence, I noticed a discussion about the British Council (Jordan). That article isn't very good yet and so someone suggests deleting it. This deletionism is a regular hazard on Wikipedia and patrolling such discussions is a focus of my activity. There's a short deadline of 7 days for discussion so perhaps you could take a look this week, while the article is still there. And, in any case, it may be worth contacting the British Council who may be interested in your work and give you access to their library and other resources. Andrew (talk) 07:20, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
DYK for Tall Jawa
[edit]On 17 April 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Tall Jawa, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Tall Jawa is now known as "The Rock"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Tall Jawa. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

- Well done. I was just about to let you know too but I see that you've seen it already. The next step will be to check tomorrow to see how many thousands of people clicked through to read the article. The hook was designed to suck in Star Wars and wrestling fans, for whom words like The Rock and Jawa have quite a different meaning. Because of this, the article was put in the "and finally" slot at the bottom of the DYK list, where they try to put a funny or quirky entry. (rule J7). My hooks often end up there. I keep a record at User:Andrew Davidson/DYKs and you might start a page like that for your own work. To start such a user page, create the link you want such as User:Nteli78/DYKs. It will be red initially so you can then click on it which will give you the option to create it. See Wikipedia:User pages for more details. Andrew (talk) 07:19, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
