- Do a search on Ask.com, Google, or your preferred search engine for the subject of the article that you want to put a reference in.
- Click 'Edit this page' or 'Edit' in the Wikipedia article, and insert a claim into that article stating a fact about the subject. Don't click the save button just yet.
- In the search you did in step 1, find a website that supports the claim you made in step 2. Highlight the address in the address bar (where it says http://www.some-website.com/some-page.htm).
- Go to the reference generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out the as many fields as you can. Then click 'Get reference wiki text'.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text.
- In the article, after the claim you made in step 2, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied in step 5.
- If the article does not have a References, Footnotes, Notes, or Bibliography section, then add this below the See Also section and above the External Links section:

[edit]Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
- What can I do now?
You are still welcome to write about something other than your company, organization, or clients. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
I am really serious on writing articles and I would do any changes necessary. I read the conflict of interest and that is the reason why I changed my username, to confirm the policy.
Thank you

Unblock request
[edit]BI Atl Writer (block log • active blocks • global blocks • autoblocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Requested username:
Request reason:
Accept reason:
- I'm not an admin, but I've moved your unblock request to the bottom of the page where it will be less confusing- imagine how a book would look if it didn't read from top to bottom- and I gave it a header so it will be more noticeable. I'd also say that, if you are serious about wanting to be unblocked, you should read over our conflict of interest guideline if you haven't already. Also, please look at our copyright policy so you don't make that mistake again. About a year ago, an editor was found doing the same thing, and as he edited almost 20,000 articles we're still trying to clean up after it. It's an easy mistake to make, but please ensure that you won't do it again. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 19:25, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
- Note that use of the plural "Writers" implies that this account is used by more than one person. Accounts must represent individuals only. mechamind90 15:35, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- I am sorry. I've changed to writer. It will be only me writing. Thank you! And hope it will work out! Nsc atl (talk) 15:44, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- I hope it works out for you too. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 17:31, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- Am I still blocked? How long can it takes for me to use the account again? Thank you!
Nsc atl (talk) 17:36, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- Usually unblock requests get handled much more quickly than this; I'll see if I can't get someone's attention. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 17:40, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you! I really appreciate it :-) I have few articles that I am working and trying to follow all the procedures! I really hope it get accepted! Thank you!

Questions
[edit]Here are a few key questions:
- Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
- Do you understand conflict of interest?
- Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?
You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the three important principles above. Ronhjones (Talk) 20:28, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- I totally understand that principles and procedures to write for Wikipedia. I read all the documents below and I agree that I made a mistake and that is the reason I wanted to change the username and to follow the procedures.
Thank you and Hope that my account is not blocked so I can contribute for Wikipedia content. Nsc atl (talk) 22:43, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
