I so enjoy interacting with pleasant people like you on Wikipedia. Please don't comment on my talk page if you can't be civil. If you think I am stalking you, that is your problem. I watch all articles under Category:Record charts. --Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 00:49, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of List of Adult Top 40 number-one singles of 2012, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://lagukaraoke.com/search/dance-hits-list-2011/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

I disagree with your change removing the {{multiple issues}} template on the We Are Young page. I stated my case on the article's Talk page. Can you please elaborate there on your reasons for removing the template -- "nonsense" doesn't at all explain your feelings as to why each element of the template is non-applicable. In the meantime, I have reverted your change. I look forward to discussing the matter with you further.

Upcoming Wikimedia events in Missouri and Kansas!

You're invited to 3 exciting events Wikipedians are planning in your region this June—a tour and meetup at the National Archives in Kansas City, and Wiknics in Wichita and St. Louis:

Kansas City
Saturday, June 16, starting at 9 a.m.National Archives in Kansas City
  • This full-day event will include a tour of the facility; presentations from National Archives Wikipedian-in-Residence, Dominic McDevitt-Parks, and Exhibit Specialist, Dee Harris; and time in the research room to work on projects. The focus of the projects will be scanning, writing articles, transcribing, or categorizing images on Commons.

Wikipedians from St. Louis and elsewhere in the region are encouraged to make a day-trip of it and come to Kansas City for this special opportunity!

And two local editions of the Great American Wiknic, the "picnic anyone can edit." Come meet (and geek out with, if you want) your local Wikipedians in a laid-back atmosphere:

Hi. When you recently edited I Will Wait, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Radio 1 (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Gay Wikipedians

So, I'm writing up a starting argument for the inclusion of this category at the deletion review, but I'm going to need as much community support as I can get. (I.E. I'm probably going to be copying-and-pasting a message explaining the thing to as many LGBT users as I can. If you wanna help me do that let me know. Here's the link to the current deletion review.

Thanks! Ncboy2010 (talk) 12:22, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Talk page reply

Yeah, I didn't know about the canvassing (although in hindsight, it makes sense). I would have thought there were other wikiprojects (related to LGBT topics) but it seems to me that they've done the same thing that was done with categories: lumped them all into a single "LGBT" catch-all. It's sad, really. Thanks for your support. Perhaps we can win this. Ncboy2010 (talk) 16:11, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

RIAA

Not sure. Maybe they have a queue to go through — each song that hits a milestone gets lined up or somesuch so they make sure they don't overlook any. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 05:53, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

You need to go to taylorswift.com

http://weallliveinapokemonworld.webs.com/Forwikipedia.jpg they still advertise We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together as a "brand new single" and if you go here http://taylorswift.com/forum it says that Begin Again is the new song not single. That over rules wikipedia. The song has not been released to radio and Tay has not made any announcement about it http://taylorswift.com/news there is a music video but you want to be blind because you are contradicted. If it was a single Tay would've said something by now and she has not there has been no confirmation by her so it isn't true that is for sure it is interesting that taylorswift.com contradicts wikipedia.

They're just forums kid, you're hopeless. NYSMtalk page 06:49, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

You're hopeless you do not look at the ads on taylorswift.com and it is you who are adding incorrect information and should be barred from editing on the page you bastard!

I am reporting you both for placing false information on Wikipedia.

184.58.18.72

Nowyouseeme, do you know how to get this kid banned? He's clearly not going to give up anytime soon regardless of how clear it is that he's wrong. Calling you a bastard and continuously harassing you (and me) on talk pages only adds to the mess. Afireinside27 (talk) 17:35, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

He has no grounds to ban me he should be banned first, he has resorted to insults such as "Bud, I'm sorry but at this point your comments are just laughable and it's clear to me that you might be a few bricks shy of a full load. You really aren't making any type of sense, and no point you have made has been proven." and "They're just forums kid, you're hopeless." when I have proven my point and neither of you will look at the advertisements on taylorswift.com and I have proven my point given 9 sources to 4 that have misinformation and neither of you will listen. So if anyone is being harassed it's me and you guys are thinking your above me and better then me when I have given my evidence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.58.18.72 (talk) 18:03, 2 October 2012 (UTC) You need to stop harassing my son, just cause he is placing correct information on the page does not give you the right to sit there and threaten him. He is posting correct information you changing it is not. Now back off my son and allow him to post correct information or I will have write to Wikipedia. You have no right pushing false information on people, harassing, threatening, or anything just cause you resort to name calling cause he proved you wrong and you didn't like it so you continue to contradict him and threaten him is not your place. You need to grow up and should not be on this site because you have no manners and should not be around people. You ever call my child another name again and revert his edit for putting correct information on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Begin_Again_%28Taylor_Swift_song%29 this page again and call him a vandal when you are posting incorrect information and I will write to Wikipedia myself and personal see that you get reprimanded for your behavior. He's only a 15 year old boy and does not need some jerk treating him as if he is stupid, he gets that in school enough.

Kid, attempting to impersonate an adult and threatening to get me reprimanded is not going to help you. If you really are treated badly in school then I am sincerely sorry you have to deal with that. NYSMtalk page 16:01, 7 October 2012 (UTC)

Excuse me? This is his mother how dare you sit there and say such things just cause you do not like me telling you you are wrong for sitting here and bullying a child cause you didn't like that he proved you wrong so you and another person had to sit there and resort to insults cause you didn't like he proved you wrong and now because you had the nerve to sit here and insult me and say that my child is impersonating me. You crossed the wrong mother. Also our personal IP address being posted on this site is illegal and I'd appreciate it if Wikipedia did not do that.

Hmm...

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would ask that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on User talk:Nowyouseeme. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. I am not a "kid" - I'm probably twice your age. Your extremely rude edit summary when blanking my warning to you is not appreciated one little bit. If you commit one more blatant copyvio I will be sure to take you to task for it. And I am going to make sure you haven't committed any others that have not yet been removed. AGF, and realize that copyright violations are taken very seriously here. Doc talk 02:33, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

I really don't care what you appreciate, I can blank whatever I want on my talk page, please feel free to comb through all 5,600 of my edits till kingdom come (why would I care), and try not to be so thin skinned for a man of your age. NYSMtalk page 03:24, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
And please, leave me alone. NYSMtalk page
You will be left alone when it's determined you are not in the habit of committing copyvios like you did. You need to lose the nasty attitude when dealing with others. I can help you with that very easily. Good talk. Doc talk 04:01, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
Don't threaten me. NYSMtalk page 04:06, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
Threaten you with what? Making sure you don't violate one of the most important policies on this site? Acknowledge you committed a blatant and flagrant copyvio, ensure that you'll clean up any others you've committed and not commit any more, and we're done here. I am not here to mess about and play games. Do not ever cut-and-paste from websites again. Surprising with someone with your apparent knowledge of our rules here would do such a thing. Cheers... Doc talk 04:14, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
You're kind of like the gift that keeps on giving aren't you, let's start counting how many times you respond here when you aren't wanted. NYSMtalk page 04:24, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
It's not your page - it's the WMF's. And, believe me, they don't like copyvios one little bit. You have been warned. Do not make the same mistake again. Doc talk 04:29, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

Wikidata weekly summary #36

Here's your quick overview of what has been happening around Wikidata over the last week.
  • Development
    • Deployed new code on wikidata.org. All changes can be found here
    • Updated demo system
    • http://test2.wikipedia.org now uses http://wikidata.org for getting language links and wikidata.org edits affecting the existing articles on test2 show up in RecentChanges (if they are not hidden)
    • Statements (think of “population: 2.000.000” and similar things) are taking shape in the interface. They are still pretty buggy though at this point.
    • It is now possible to link to images on Wikimedia Commons in a statement (think of “image: sundown_at_the_beach.png” for example)
    • Links are now protocol-relative (bugzilla:42534)
    • No longer possible to create new items and set labels when database is set to read-only
    • Added more tests to the GeoCoordinate parser
    • Make use of EditEntity in removeclaims API
    • Removed many singletons to reduce global state
    • Made SpecialSetLabel work with non-item entities
    • Improved settings system
    • Improved options of ValueFormatters
    • Improved options of ValueParsers
    • Moved label+description uniqueness check out of transaction to avoid deadlocks and changed it to only be enforced for edits changing any violating values
    • Fixed serialization of SiteArray
    • ~=[,,_,,]:3
    • Had to fix reporting of aliases in wbsearchentities again
    • Implemented integration of baserevids for statements UI API calls for editconflict detection for statements/claims/snaks
    • Universal Language Selector fallback fix for Selenium tests
    • Report URL to entity in wbsearchentites API module
    • Moved the demo system to a larger server
    • Fixed several bugs in Statements user interface, most notably, adding Statements to existing sections and layout fixes
    • Added wikibase API module on the client to provide information about the associated repo (e.g. url, script path, article path)
    • A bunch of messages for autocomments were fixed (they are automatically added as an edit summary for edits on items and co in Wikidata - for example: “‎Changed [en] description: Finnish rock band”)
  • Discussions/Press
  • Events
    • WhereCamp
    • Wikidata talk as part of a lecture on knowledge management in Karlsruhe
    • upcoming: 29C3

Hand-coding

Hey all :).

I'm dropping you a note because you've been involved in dealing with feedback from the Article Feedback Tool. To get a better handle on the overall quality of comments now that the tool has become a more established part of the reader experience, we're undertaking a round of hand coding - basically, taking a sample of feedback and marking each piece as inappropriate, helpful, so on - and would like anyone interested in improving the tool to participate :).

You can code as many or as few pieces of feedback as you want: this page should explain how to use the system, and there is a demo here. Once you're comfortable with the task, just drop me an email at okeyes@wikimedia.org and I'll set you up with an account :).

If you'd like to chat with us about the research, or want live tutoring on the software, there will be an office hours session on Monday 17 December at 23:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office connect. Hope to see some of you there! Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 23:17, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Be civil

Please note that in wiki you are required to provide reference when making edits, unreferenced edits may be challenged and removed as is the standard guidelines for wiki. Since you make edits making reference to charts which is normally not published until later in the week, you should give reference when changing it. This is the second time you have been making less than friendly comments when making edits, violating the guidelines per WP:CIVIL. I hope not to see any comments like these.
