Merrill Lynch wikilink removal
[edit]Please do not remove the links from the article's Violation of Civil Rights section, as you did here. Relevant internal links are helpful to the reader. If you feel the need to practice, you may want to use the sandbox.--DMCer™ 12:59, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- I believe they were very relevant to the context, as the legal term "malice" is worth linking to, as are the types of ethnicity that were allegedly being discriminated against; although the second instance of "Iranian" probably could go without a link. Users who know these things need not click on the links.--DMCer™ 19:22, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
I disagree with you. Highlighting the generic names like Islam and Iranian are a disservice to this article.
If I am reading a story about a flood in Florida highlighting a word like "car" and "tree" would be absurd!!
Regardless, I think you are imposing a monopoly over the content of this page and this is against the spirit of Wikipedia! Not sure who you are and what is your mandate or education but it's clear to me that you have no qualification editing my posts! Having a degree in middle eastern studies hardly gives you the right to jump in and edit writtings of someone who could easily be your professor in many subjects! I recommend you spend bulk of your time editing lighter subjects. Perhpas something to the tune of sports articles or alike! Go back to school please!
- Your tone is quite unnecessary and really distracts from the point you were trying to make. Considering the section title is named "Violation of Civil Rights of Iranian-Muslim employees", I think the links are more than acceptable, as they match the criteria for linking to relevant words.--DMCer™ 23:36, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
