Red delicious apple reference footnote

[edit]

Thank you for finding and documenting a quick and easy way to access plant patents online!

I have moved your < ref > ... < / ref > from the sentence where you put it to the top of the table, and added some explanation. My rationale is this: because United States plant patents are legal documents issued by the US government, the plant patent number by itself is a valid reference citation; no other citation is needed. However, this fact may not be abundantly clear, as proven by your action to provide an already cited sentence with a citation. I feel that putting the information you found at the beginning of the table helps to clarify this point. (The alternative, to my mind, is to add a footnote citation for every entry in the table, producing a massive and largely repetitive = = References = = section.)

I welcome any further input you may have about how to better clarify this point. Jay L09 (talk) 04:42, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I added a US plant patent template: {{US plant patent|99999}} Nothanks23 (talk) 21:07, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
