This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Daniel Sullivan (Oklahoma politician), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Daniel_Sullivan,_Oklahoma_Representative.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) VWBot (talk) 20:18, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Daniel Sullivan (Oklahoma politician)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Daniel Sullivan (Oklahoma politician), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Moreover, please add more verifiable sources, not only 3rd party sources. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Pointillist (talk) 20:54, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Your addition to Dale DeWitt has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. causa sui (talk) 21:08, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
The article Dale DeWitt has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Missouri House of Representatives
[edit]Greetings -- I'm curious as to why you removed Shane Schoeller as Speaker Pro Tem from the Missouri House of Representatives Wiki. Especially since it was done with no summary or reason stated. For now I'll treat this as a good faith error and not deliberate vandalism. If you have a valid reason, please message me back and explain. Thanks. Sector001 (talk) 20:19, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Capitalization of headings
[edit]Hey Nostalgiacritic,
The Wikipedia style for capitalizing headings is to use "sentence case" instead of "title case", e.g.,
- Important things to know about this subject
not:
- Important Things to Know About This Subject
This may be unfamiliar to many editors who believe that or have been taught that "title case is the right way to capitalize headings". It isn't the "right way", it is one style. Wikipedia has, for better or worse, chosen to follow a different style, i.e., capitalize the heading the same way you would capitalize any sentence:
- capitalize the first word,
- capitalize any proper nouns (people, places, organizations), and
- begin all other words with lower case letters.
See WP:MSH for more information. Thanks. Ground Zero | t 02:34, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Also, please note that WP:MSH says:
- "Headings should not explicitly refer to the subject of the article, or to higher-level headings, unless doing so is shorter or clearer (Early life is preferable to His early life when his refers to the subject of the article; headings can be assumed to be about the subject unless otherwise indicated)."
So in an article about, for example, the Montana Democratic Party, a section about chairmen of the party should be headed "Chairmen", not "Chairmen of the Montana Democratic Party". The latter form is longer than it needs to be, because we can assume that a list of chairmen in an article about the MDP is not referring to chairmen of the Communist Party of China, or another organization. Regards, Ground Zero | t 13:55, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- Please stop using the incorrect capitalization of headings. I've tried to explain the Wikipedia style to you above. If there is anything that you don't understand about WP:MSH, please feel free to ask instead of continuing to make these unnecessary errors. Also, when making the plural form of a noun , e.g., "officials", it is incorrect to put the "s" in parentheses. If there is more than one of a thing, then you just add the "s" to the end of the noun without parentheses. If there is only one, then you leave the "s" off. Putting the "s" in parentheses is something that it only appropriate for legal documents. It is inappropriate for Wikipedia, which is written in plain English to be read by average readers, as opposed to lawyers. Thank you for your cooperation on both of these matters, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regards, Ground Zero | t 01:46, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
- With your edits to Wyoming Democratic Party and Wyoming Republican Party, it appears that you are determined to edit "your way" instead in the Wikipedia style. Please accept that the Wikipedia community has adopted a certain style to apply to Wikipedia articles. Ignoring Wikipedia style and using your own style instead is disruptive. Ground Zero | t 10:07, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
Anthony Kennedy
[edit]Please stop adding unsourced information to the Anthony Kennedy article. To say he is a Republican in the infobox, you have to find a reliable source that states that is his political affiliation.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:54, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
State legislators' Infoboxes
[edit]Hi. Thanks for your edit to Al McAffrey, including adding his senate service to the infobox. In case you're not aware, the infobox has specific parameters for state legislators, which ensure a consistent format across all articles in keeping with our Manual of Style. For state reps, you can use state_house=Oklahoma and district=88th to automatically display "Member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives from the 88th district", for example. For state senators, it's state_senate=California. Where lower houses are called assemblies or houses of delegates, use state_assembly=Wisconsin or state_delegate=Virginia, for example. Hope this helps! --Lincolnite (talk) 00:31, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Solid South, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Charles E. Hughes (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Legislature caucus shading
[edit]The shading is used to indicate the majority caucus in the legislature. Shading every single cell in the table defeats this purpose. --Kurykh (talk) 07:24, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
