Oh, I see you have been around a while. Looks like you might or might not need the links above; just wanted to pop-in and say I'm available if you need any help! = paul2520 (talk) 19:46, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I made an account ages ago but only recently have been actively editing, so for all intents and purposes, I'm as new as can be. Thanks! Norvianii (talk) 20:24, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I saw a notification about today's (5.6.2019) vandalism of Cathal Ó Searcaigh's page -- I immediately tried to revert it and found you had done that already -- well spotted, and thanks!
There has been a little spate of vandalism attempts on Cathal's page recently, probably all by the same person using different anonymous addresses to avoid blocking. My reasoning is that they're at roughly weekly intervals, and they're written by someone without perfect literacy. ('Subsequently' was misspelt in one, the neologism 'whomst' was used in another.) If it continues I think we should discuss the problem with an administrator and maybe consider edit-protecting the page, which however I know little about. Yeah, no worries. I'd say weekly mild vandalism probably isn't enough for protection, but I'm also fairly new at this so take everything I say with a grain/pound of salt. Norvianii (talk) 18:16, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That's a lot of salt! But I'll take your word for it all the same. I suppose there are worse types of vandalism, although an allegation of the crime of paedophilia (for which there was no real evidence, at the time or since) is actually quite serious if anyone sees it without knowing the whole background. Cathal himself seems to have moved on from that episode and luckily for all of us he continues to pour out a succession of literary marvels! Fortunately for him he's not on the internet, not even email - that's a rare and privileged place to be these days! Dmhball~enwiki (talk) 22:48, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
