This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of National School Sailing Association (NSSA), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.nssa.org.uk/index.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. - I don't understand - you've deleted something because it is on another website - even though I wrote the original text and am happy for it to go on Wiki?

Re:NSSA

[edit]

My apologies for not leaving you a message in person, I was under the impression that the bot would have explained the reason for having the page deleted.

First, know that the seconds between the tagging and the deletion was merely a coincidence; it was not meant a a slight to you. While working the recent changes page today I happened to return and notice that Coren search bot had left tag on the page. I checked the site and the article, agreed with the bots assessment, and deleted the page on grounds that it came from the NSSA website. The reason for the deletion specifically stems from the fact the site is listed as copyright by the NSSA association, meaning that the material there - even if you did in fact write it - can not be reprinted here unless the NSSA release their website content under a copyleft license.

To solve the problem, you can ask NSSA people to release the contents of their website under a copyleft license, or you may start from scratch and write something on the group without using any of the material from the NSSA website. Additionally, as the deleting administrator, I would be happy to provide you with a copy of the deleted page if you would like to start with the material on that page and rework it for publication here. Note that recreation of deleted material is grounds for speedy deletion of wikipedia, so a restored copy of the NSSA page would need to remain within you user space until such time as the article is rewritten in its entirety to avoid getting the axe again.
