Notability of StatPro Group Plc

[edit]

A tag has been placed on StatPro Group Plc requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Wikidudeman (talk) 14:00, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Justin Wheatley, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.statpro.com/executives_justin_wheatley.asp. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 16:22, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

notability

[edit]

I see you have removed the copyvio, but the page was also listed for deletion as non-notable. i think he may well be notable, so as the admin screening the deletion I removed the tag. I suggest you add additional references to demonstrate it from 3rd party public sources, or it may well be proposed for deletion via WP:AFD. DGG (talk) 17:41, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Manual of Style and trademarks

[edit]

By the way, Wikipedia has a big sprawling manual of style; one corner of it that you seem to violate regularly is the section on trademarks, MOS:TM. Our policy is that the ® symbol has almost no place in the encyclopedia. Studerby 04:42, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to Hyderabad

[edit]

Noni,

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. – Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 02:16, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Again, use edit summaries, especially when you're changing numbers in data tables. I am invariant under co-ordinate transformations (talk) 15:04, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was merely perusing the page then "edited" only to add a comma! I did mark the edit as minor, but I will use this summary feature in the future, as you advise, to avoid any more confusion. Noni4eva7 (talk) 10:11, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Noni4eva7! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 721 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Andrew Colin (financial analyst) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Erin Kelly, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page BA (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on StatPro Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Proposed deletion of Justin Wheatley

[edit]

The article Justin Wheatley has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability per WP:BIO or WP:GNG. Created by inactive WP:SPA as part of a batch of articles about StatPro. Company is reasonably notable, but WP:Notability is not inherited, and I can find no significant coverage of him in WP:RS, just passing mentions in articles about the company.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
