To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}}
on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes
~~~~
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp. - Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
- This is helpful, thank you Nolansfood (talk) 18:42, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
Hi, the map you're adding to the subject article is looking pretty good. For future reference, though, it may work out better to perfect a map like this in your sandbox before copying over into an article. That would cause less disruption to the article editing process, and also be reasonably complete with all the pins available for the most benefit for the readers. Stefen Towers among the rest! - Can you send me a guide on how to use the sandbox? I haven't tried that yet. Nolansfood (talk) 22:58, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- The sandbox is really just a page you can edit (mostly) freely for testing purposes, and your primary one is here: User:Nolansfood/sandbox. You can produce the same map in the sandbox page as if it's an article, and then when you feel it's in good shape, you can copy/paste it over to the article. Hope this helps. See Help: Sandbox for further info. Stefen Towers among the rest! Gab • Gruntwerk 23:21, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
