Did you take your "needs more cowbell" boilerplate from Encyclopedia damatica? (Cause I... um... used to write for them and created that template. Wow, small world. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by No Parking (talkcontribs) 20:52, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

Nope, sorry. I took it from another user's userspace, though I can't remember whom, to tell you the truth. The image was only {{fairuse}}, and thus, I couldn't use it on my user space, but I love that sketch so much. -Mysekurity 01:19, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Satisfaction

I don't think the FAC requirements were any less demanding around this time last year when it came to references. I think most of the questionable content was added long after the article became featured (it has been a year, after all). Johnleemk | Talk 07:53, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Useless

If the Works Cited page wasn't a good place to put said information, where would be? And for that matter, what should Wikipedia do with the Works Cited page? Provide history?

Thanks for helping

[edit]

Dear No Parking: Hi, I wanted to say thanks for helping me with the ill nomination of The NBA on NBC. I have been here for three years, but my main object is writing articles and making friends, so I really don't spend a lot of time nominating or doing "laundry" (if you will) duties. So, as you can see Ive only nominated about three times before, a lot of times, I still need help with things like that.

Anyways, thanks for helping and God bless you!

Sincerely yours, your friend, Antonio WikiHell Martin

You have my seal of approval!

First of all, I'm flattered to think of myself as the "Grand Wikipedia Song Article Seal of Approval" guy. Anyway, I've looked over the article, and I'm very impressed. It's thorough, excellently referenced, and completely NPOV, which is always hard for solo articles. So, good work, and I'd be happy to support it on its next FAC. Deltabeignet 05:45, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!!

Thanks for noticing my little plight :) I'm glad someone else understands this template. — 0918BRIAN • 2005-12-23 05:50

Don't have time for a detailed look right now -- I recommend putting it on WP:PR before sending it to FAC. I note the "Quotes" section, which is usually considered inappropriate for Wikipedia articles (better to link to the relevant Wikiquote page). The Ronstadt quote under "Cover versions" should go also. Tuf-Kat 06:43, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a little bit irritated that you reverted my reversion without so much as an edit summary explaining why [1]. I'm going to revert your addition once more, as I simply cannot see why you would insert a mini, completely irrelevant, userbox on the top of his page. It appears to be vandalism, an appearance that is not helped by the userbox's location at User:No Parking/Threat. Please provide some sort of reason for this addition rather than inserting this object repeatedly with no apparent rationale. Blackcap (talk) 18:11, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Great, that's just fine. In the future, though, please don't revert valid edits with a vandalism removing tool, as it makes it look as though you consider the edit to be vandalism and not worthy of even an explanation. This can be very frustrating, especially if there's a dispute, as there was here. Blackcap (talk) 22:34, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I did laugh, for what it's worth. Thanks to both of you!--Sean|Black 01:48, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:433score.jpg. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law. We need you to specify two things on the image description page:

  • The copyright holder, and
  • The copyright status

The copyright holder is usually the creator. If the creator was paid to make this image, then their employer may be the copyright holder. If several people collaborated, then there may be more than one copyright holder. If you created this image, then you are the copyright holder.

Because of the large number of images on Wikipedia, we've sorted them using image copyright tags. Just find the right tag corresponding to the copyright status of this image, and paste it onto the image description page like this: {{TAGHERE}}.

There are 3 basic ways to licence an image on Wikipedia:

  • The copyright holder can also release their work into the public domain. See here for examples.
  • Images from certain sources are automatically released into the public domain. This is true for the United States, where the Wikimedia servers are located. (See here for images from the government of the USA and here for other governments.) However, not all governments release their work into the public domain. One exception is the UK (see here for images from the UK government). Non-free licence governments are listed here.
  • Also, in some cases, an image is copyrighted but allowed on Wikipedia because of fair use. To see a) if this image qualifies, and b) if so, how to tag it, see Wikipedia:Fair use.

For more information, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Please remember that untagged images are likely to be deleted.

If you have uploaded other images without including copyright tags, please go back and tag them. Also, please tag all images that you upload in the future.

If you have any questions, just leave a message on my talk page. Thanks again. --Zzyzx11 (Talk) 05:08, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dancingman.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. --OrphanBot 05:10, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:LiamLynchWhatever.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:LiamLynchWhatever.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. WebHamster 23:52, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello No Parking! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 406 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Bobby Keys - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

File source problem with File:Dancingman.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Dancingman.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:34, 28 February 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 15:34, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
