[edit]Thank you for your contributions. One of your recent contributions to WFLD has been reverted or removed, because it contains speculative or unconfirmed information about a future event. Wikipedia has a policy called Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, which discourages such edits. Please only add material about future events if it is verifiable, based on a reference to a reliable source. Thank you. Deconstructhis (talk) 20:27, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to WFLD. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Deconstructhis (talk) 21:17, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to WLS-TV. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Deconstructhis (talk) 21:21, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did to WGN-TV, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Deconstructhis (talk) 21:38, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
NoSuchThing85, your editing style seems "oddly familiar" to me. ;) Have you edited these Chicago TV station articles before, by any chance? Deconstructhis (talk) 21:38, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
No, I have not. I did occasionaly go on to the site and was disappointed to see that material was removed.NoSuchThing85 (talk) 21:40, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- You do realize that every time you do this, in all likelihood, you are lessening the chance that you will ever be trusted enough to regain your editing privileges? Deconstructhis (talk) 22:00, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:27, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Blocked as a sock puppet
[edit]You may contest this block by adding the text

Request reason:
This is absoutely ridiculous. Yes I admit I was a sockpuppet b/c I was standing up for the edits I believe should be left alone like it has been until the last month. Those edits have been that way for over a year without disruption. Of course I am upset by this who wouldn't be. I was the one who had been always editing this content and then Deconstructhis who doesn't even live here goes and edits disruptively and sets the whole thing in motion. Now there are like ten people who were a part of the station. Why even bother having a list at all if someone is going to do that. This has really been upsetting to me and has caused me unecessary anxiety and headaches that I really don't need in life. I would appreciate it if an administrator could try to see my point of view over this entire mess. I really enjoyed editing and this is very hurtful and upsetting to me. I would like my edits to go back to the way they were. I put a lot of hard work and effort into it and no one seems to care in the least. I work full time and always made contributions to Wikipedia and this is how I get repayed??? If you look at all my edits they have been very constructive over the years. Decline reason:
Sorry, your history of deceitful behavior, including the new lies in the exchanges above, make it quite difficult to take you seriously. If your participation here is making you sick, it would be an excellent idea to seek medical attention and cease editing. Please only use your original account, which is now limited to making e-mail requests to unblock-en-l@lists.wikimedia.org. Kuru (talk) 01:36, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Here is the entire conversation. Please read my reasoning behind leaving the edits alone. Notice JTRH did the same thing I just did to one of his/her stations to WCNC-TV in North Carolina added a no reference tag and it was left alone. When I did it, it was immediately removed and then I was blocked. They all just hate me it seems. :(
Hi Deconstructthis,
I was wondering if you could shed some light on something. I noticed that all of the former on-air talent lists have been removed. In my opinion, they were very useful and at times answered some questions I had about a past personality. Is is going to be this way for good??? I was wondering if you would ever allow them back. Since you are an administrator, I know you have the authority to decide. By the way, I love Wikipedia and am so glad I joined. Happy editing. NoSuchThing85 (talk) 20:58, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Hello NoSuchThing85; I'm kind of pressed for time at the moment, but I will get back to you later tonight if I can. I'd like to request that you take a look at the section occurring before this one here on my talk page and have close read of my reasoning for making these changes and why I believe consensus exists for its permanent removal. Also, I'd like to make it very clear that I am not an administrator; although I believe there is quite a bit of evidence suggesting that several administrators at least support the removal of this material in principle and that our policies and guidelines also indicate its inappropriateness. After you've looked at my reasoning in detail, I would be happy to answer any questions that you might have. cheers Deconstructhis (talk) 21:11, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks so much for responding so quickly. I'm only coming to you when I have an issue. Thanks NoSuchThing85 (talk) 21:14, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
I just got finished reading the conflict on your page and I do agree with the party that was in favor of the list but I completely disagree on how they went about it. They had no right in continuing to revert the edits without gaining approval first. It did seem though that everytime I would look at the pages, they were keeping up to date with the recent dismissals and etc and in some way I can understand as to why they were upset by this.
In my opinion, it would make sense to just get rid of the former on air talent list altogether since the notable list that is on there currently only has a select few. Whereas, before the list didn't exclude anyone. I kind of feel like the list before really was kept up to date and was interesting to see how it grew over the years and it made you remember people that you had completely forgotten about until you saw their name that was noted on the list. I do understand that wikipedia isn't a directory but a lot of other shows and etc don't exclude anyone who was ever a part of making it a success. I also don't really feel like its harming the article in any way. Also, Wikipedia was the only place you could find on the internet that had a complete list of past personalities and I always thought that was so nice and made wikipedia one of the best sources on the web. Now, I kind of feel like there are no places to turn to if you are in doubt about a person who at one point or another was with the station. There are plenty of acts of vandalism that go on and more time should be put forward toward preventing and dealing with that accordingly. I would be happy to add the lists back if and when you guys come to the conclusion that it indeed would be ok. Plus, it would give me more experience with editing on here anyway. It's so fun. Think it over and let me know where you stand later. Thanks. NoSuchThing85 (talk) 21:18, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Last thing I forgot to mention. There is a WBBM-TV Newsteam page and it includes all of the same information that is on WBBM-TV's page. Is that really necessary?? Someone might want to think of removing it permanently since its dubious information that is just listed for a second time. NoSuchThing85 (talk) 22:00, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
I fixed up KERO-TV kind of how you have KGET-TV because it was the same thing, until the issue gets resolved. Just wanted you to know, and left the comment on why I changed it that way. Just wanted to update you. (JoeCool950 (talk) 21:26, 7 July 2010 (UTC)) Thanks very much for your courtesy JoeCool950, it's genuinely appreciated. cheers Deconstructhis (talk) 05:45, 8 July 2010 (UTC) [edit] Lists of TV personnel Hi. Can you please point me to the consensus rejecting unsourced lists of former television station personnel? Thanks. JTRH (talk) 16:41, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
I'm specifically asking because of your large-scale deletion at WCNC-TV of a lot of material which I contributed. Thanks. JTRH (talk) 16:42, 8 July 2010 (UTC) Hi again. I restored the material you deleted and tagged the section as unreferenced. This gives me and other editors a chance to locate sources and make some editorial decisions rather than having almost the entire list deleted as unreferenced and apparently non-notable. Thanks JTRH (talk) 16:51, 8 July 2010 (UTC) I might, if I can, do the same thing with KGET-TV and KERO-TV (tag the secion as unreferenced). I can see what sources I can locate for the past former staff, that should be notable on the sight, and the ones that I can't find, won't be on there. I put each list in my sandbox and work on them, then that way, KERO-TV and KGET-TV has a good list of notable people on there. I'll work on KGET-TV, so if you see the reference tag, means I'm working on it. I'll put the updated one, once I get it done, up on KGET-TV and KERO-TV.
