AfD nomination of Apollo OS
[edit]I have nominated Apollo OS, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Apollo OS. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. For your information, the legal threats on your user page are the subject of a report at WP:ANI, specifically: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#User:NoKindOfName - Legal threat report. – ukexpat (talk) 17:33, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- NoKindOfName, I'm sorry, but I'm really quite confident you won't succeed in your attempt to revoke your GFDL licensed contributions. Now, as you probably know, you can't edit Wikipedia while there's an outstanding threat of legal action (see WP:LEGAL). Since your comment on your user page is crystal clear, I'm blocking you temporarily. If you change your mind about this, and clearly retract your claim that you will pursue legal action if you don't get your way, make an {{unblock}} request here and an admin will unblock the account.
- If, after that, you'd like help with whatever issue is causing you distress, let me, or another admin, know. --barneca (talk) 17:37, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
It's just a joke! LOL I didn't think you'd take it so seriously. Sorry for the trouble. NoKindOfName (talk) 17:43, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well after your reaction to the Apollo OS Afd here Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Apollo OS, it's easy to see how we could misconstrue your comment... – ukexpat (talk) 17:51, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- It's really simple. If you make an unambiguous statement where you retract the legal threat and convince us that you really do have no intention of following through, you may be unblocked. Should you be unblocked, your first action should be to remove the legal threat. Also, you really should not be disruptive to Wikipedia merely to make a WP:POINT. If a decision at Wikipedia does not go your way, drop it and move on to something else... --Jayron32.talk.contribs 17:54, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Unblock
[edit]{{unblock}}
- Meh, the unblock template got messed up, so rather than fix it I'll just do it this way. I've unblocked, I can live with an "it was just a joke" retraction, although you'd be hard pressed to convince someone you really meant it as a joke at the time. Anyway, you're unblocked, and I'm sorry if you aren't enjoying your time here. If you need help with anything, let someone know. --barneca (talk) 18:06, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Nobody likes me here. I gotta stop recommending Wikipedia to friends.— Preceding unsigned comment added by NoKindOfName (talk • contribs)
- It's not that -- you and Wikipedia obviously got off on the wrong foot. Don't let the fact that your article was deleted discourage you. However, like most communities, real and virtual, we have policies and guidelines dealing with the content that is created here and all editors are expected to comply with them as a condition of editing. I will post a proper welcome template below with links to many pages here to help you get started. – ukexpat (talk) 18:20, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Visopsys/MikeOS
[edit]You successfully got Visopsys deleted, but we're improving the MikeOS article. If someone agrees to undelete the Visopsys article I'll improve it. I am a developer on the Apollo and Mike OS projects, and I think that MikeOS is mature enough and has a sufficient user base to be mentioned. As a developer on Apollo, I'll even tell you we're just getting started. Thanks for your interest, but we didn't appreciate Afd'ing notable articles like MikeOS and Visopsys.
