removing area date from infoboxes
[edit]This edit, one of a series of edits to other such articles, changes "Area code 609" to "Area codes 609 and 640". Many of these edits have also removed area data from infoboxes. The area data, both in customary and metric units, has been taken directly from data from the United States Census Bureau Gazetteer. There is no reason or need to remove this data. Alansohn (talk)
- Alansohn, no data is being removed. The Gazetter information only provides area in square miles, which requires that the information be converted to km2. The infobox has the capability to convert the figures automatically. --Willy No1lakersfan (Talk - Edits) 22:15, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
- As stated above and in every edit summary, the area data, both in customary and metric units, has been taken directly from data from the United States Census Bureau Gazetteer, which includes both sets of units. Take a look at the source where ALAND and AWATER are area in metric units and ALAND_SQMI and AWATER_SQMI are the area in customary units. There is no reason or need to remove this data. There is no need to do a conversion nor any need to remove the data already in the article. Alansohn (talk) 22:31, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
- Alansohn, there is one problem with what you are saying here. The parameters for population density should BOTH be set to auto, if one is to be set that way. Otherwise it is overridden by the one that is defined by a number. This is how the infobox template works. Willy No1lakersfan (Talk - Edits) 22:43, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
