[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to User talk:Pinethicket, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. You have been blocked from editing for violating Wikipedia policy. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest this block by replying here on your talk page by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}}. You may also email the blocking administrator or any administrator from this list instead, or mail unblock-en-llists.wikimedia.org. Daniel Case (talk) 15:28, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
Your addition to Tiger Salamander has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Pinethicket (talk) 14:22, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Tiger Salamander. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
In particular, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue edit warring, you may be blocked from editing.
- Please also note that we cannot accept the unsubstantiated word of an anonymous editor that they have copyright permission for use of material. The web site from which you have copied contains the message "©2011 PetWatch and EcoHealth Alliance", which makes it seem improbable that its owners have granted permission for anyone in the world to reuse it and modify it as they seem fit, as required by Wikipedia's licensing terms. However, if they are willing to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at User talk:Tiger Salamander and send an email with the message to permissions-enwikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- Arrange for a notice on the original website to state that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at User talk:Tiger Salamander with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on User talk:Tiger Salamander.
If you continue to load the material without establishing that copyright permission is granted you may well be blocked for much longer than last time, possibly indefinitely. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:55, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
