Have enjoyed your recent contributions relating to several anti-nuclear weapons activists. Thanks for that... There is a POV dispute at Operation Plowshare and I wonder if you would have time to take a look at it please... Johnfos (talk) 22:53, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Natural farming
Hi.
I missed the deletion discussion for "Natural Farming" category. Did you nominate it and if so, why was it deleted?
I saw your suggestion but I think not, I was argue that the manner in which "Natural farming" is used has become something specific to Masanobu Fukuoka.
Was this considered before it was deleted? Thanks. --Iyo-farm (talk) 16:55, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- I suppose a category for Natural Farming could be a sub-page of another category but the small number of articles is not a limitation to inclusion. It is all to do with being specific and accurate.
- I am unsure from the discussion that the two individuals had any awareness of Natural Farming as being something specific to Fukuoka rather than considering it just as an adjectival phrase. There is nothing in that discussion, or this one, to suggest that they did.
- There are a number of quotes where Natural Farming is capitalised, although I accept that it is not universal written that way. It just seems to be the only convenient way in which to separate a general or confusing adjectival phrase; natural farming (no farming is "natural"), from a specific method; Natural Farming. A point underline by an alternative system Nature Farming, e.g. [1].
- I understand the Wikipedia generally only capitalises the first word of a title but I think this is a different case here as per "Manual of Style/Trademarks".
- Did you considered it from a Fukuoka point of view. Thanks.--Iyo-farm (talk) 13:47, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Wipf and Stock is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Thanks for working so hard on this page. I know a number of people who will probably want to contribute to it, including myself. Feel free to borrow any of the CC-BY-SA 3.0 Unported content I have written in a blog post I wrote on the subject which references quite a few sources. Aharonium (talk) 17:31, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed your alterations to this article. One of the problems of putting Robert Payne's views front-and-center is that Payne's book is universally regarded by historians as complete garbage. A problem with this article is that it gives the view the Hitler was not a vegetarian far too much weight. All actual specialist historians agree that he was. The "evidence" that he wasn't is an accummulation of gossip articles in cookery magazines and the like which have no real evidentiary value at all, since they are not based any first hand testimony or experience. One of them actually mistakes a joke for a fact (ie that Hitler was a vegetarian but he made an exception for ham - to prove he wasn't Jewish). Paul B (talk) 19:38, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- The universal view of specialists on the subject is not too much weight. It is precisely due weight. A good case could be made for excluding Payne altogether on the grounds that his book is totally unreliable. It might be more appropriate to say in the lede that some vegetarian activists such as Rynn Berry have felt the need to deny Hitler's vegetarianism and that it was a topic of debate in the popular press at one time. But the view of actual specialist biographers is unanimous - unless you have evidence to the contrary. Paul B (talk) 20:02, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know where you get the idea that Payne is a "renowned biographer", unless "renowned" just means "well known" (but "renowned" somehow sounds more grand doesn't it?). Imagine applying that to, say, Hitler himself: the "renowned political theorist" (well, he is isn't he? He's famous and he had a theory of politics). Being renowned grants no status whatever. It's much better to be an extremely obscure expert as far as Wikipedia is concerned. Whether I disagree with him does not matter, that's true. But you are strangely conflating that with whether historians disagree with him. That does matter - a very great deal according to Wikipedia's rules. That's exactly how we determine what is and is not a reliable source. Experts in the field decide. See WP:RS. Paul B (talk) 21:20, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- WP:BLPSOURCES? The article is not a BLP (biography of a living person), unless you that Adolf is still hiding out somewhere in South America, so the policy you point to is wholly irrelevant. The point I was making is that it is highly arguable whether Payne can be considered a reliable sourrce at all. I think not. You seem to be wilfully ignoring the argument. WP:AN
Hi, I've taken the liberty of removing your thread about the discussion on meta regarding salaries at the WMF as it is really unrelated to administrator's activity and AN's scope. I would suggest that a better place to bring up the matter would be the appropriate village pump, as it doesn't affect admins any more than normal users. Talk:Veganism/GA1
I see that you have nominated Veganism at WP:GAC. However, you have not participated at Talk:Veganism/GA1. SlimVirgin (talk · contribs) has been the only respondent at the discussion. He has terminated the review. I said I did not think that this was appropriate, but he did so anyways. I have reverted his edits at Talk:Veganism until you have consented to end the nomination.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 06:39, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
Veganism
Hi Nirvana, I wanted to clarify, when I posted my comments about the main contributors, that I didn't mean to imply that you weren't one; clearly you and others (particularly Kellen`) are. But I had to quote from the GA nomination page, and it said: "Nominators who are not significant contributors to the article should consult regular editors of the article prior to a nomination." Those were the only words that referred to checking with other contributors, so that was what I ended up having to post. But my concern was about the review, and my desire not to have it continue; or at least not to have it continue with me involved. I'm sorry for expressing myself clumsily. SlimVirgin (talk) 16:24, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry, one more thing. I just noticed that you're copying material from the veganism page to other articles, e.g. here. Just a word of caution about that. First, when we move material we're supposed to leave a note in the edit summary (material copied from article X) for the licensing requirements. But, apart from that, copying it word for word while leaving it in the main article risks someone in future trying to remove that material from the main article, even though it's appropriate or even important there. It also risks forks developing, where exactly the same material is presented in different contexts. So it's best, unless you're actually removing material from the main article completely, to rewrite anything for each new page that deals with the same issue. SlimVirgin (talk) 17:23, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- No problemo, point taken. Please note the words replicated from the article veganism were mine in the first place, I just placed them in various articles that I deemed were relevant. I was not copying other editors words, as far as I am aware. Nirvana2013 (talk) 22:02, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- If it's your own writing, then it's not so much of an issue (though I think I wrote the text in the edit I linked to above), but the problem remains of multiple articles saying the same thing, including even the footnotes. I wouldn't want to see someone try to break up the veganism article using the argument that bits of it are already elsewhere. Anyway, sorry to mention it. It's not a big deal. hello I noticed your edits on Plowshares Movement, an article which relates to this is Ploughshares Fund. I am attempting to source this article, do you mind at the least watching this article and possibly assisting me? Thank you so much. Igottheconch (talk) 06:50, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
Helen Knothe Nearing
I notice that you have made contributions to the Wikipedia article on Helen Knothe Nearing. I have posted a query on the talk page for that article, about Krishnamurti's friendship with a Helen Knothe who may be the same woman. I wonder if you could look at the query, as I think you may be able to help and even possibly add some information to the article on her. I myself know very little about the two. --P123cat1 (talk) 01:41, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
I got your message on my talk page, thanks. I will edit the Helen Nearing article accordingly. --P123cat1 (talk) 10:48, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
