Ways to improve Moroni Channel

[edit]

Hi, I'm Pmaccabe. Nirethur, thanks for creating Moroni Channel!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. While this is clearly a good faith edit, you need secondary sources for both your information about the group and to indicate its notability. Please look at Wikipedia's guidelines for notability.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Phil (talk) 07:33, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I was just writing you here to say Hello and Welcome to Wikipedia. It is clear you put effort into making a good article and that is a great sign for a new editor. Articles have to show that the topic meets a standard of general notability. This is best done by linking to reliable secondary sources (not the site of the topic itself). Do you think you can find sources like that for this topic? Phil (talk) 07:52, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Notability_(organizations_and_companies)#Primary_criteria This is the official guideline. It sounds like it might be a little bit of a stretch to meet it for this article at this time, but if you can find sources please do. If it doesn't meet that standard right now though, don't be discouraged, maybe it will in the future. The best way to learn how things work on here is to just keep contributing and watching how other people make good edits too. It doesn't take long and you are clearly an engaged and passionate person. Don't be afraid to keep trying to make contributions wherever you can to improve things. It is actually past my bedtime right now but I'll make sure to look how things are going tomorrow and drop you another line. Phil (talk) 08:11, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like the page was removed. I hope you don't worry too much about that and continue contributing. It can always be added later if it can meet the guidelines for notability. If you are particularly interested in LDS topics you should visit the WikiProject Latter Day Saint movement and see what there it to do there that might interest you. There is not just a lot of opportunity to add to Wikipedia but a community to help you do so, whatever your interests are. Phil (talk) 06:42, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 07:57, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
