January 2024

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Names for India did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! Kautilya3 (talk) 16:07, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, please add edit summaries. It really helps other editors. Thanks! Masterhatch (talk) 10:10, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of things

[edit]

Please stop changing BC to BCE. Check out MOS:VAR: "When either of two styles is acceptable it is inappropriate for a Wikipedia editor to change from one style to another unless there is some substantial reason for the change." Also, don't add full stops to captions in images. Thanks! Masterhatch (talk) 09:42, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I see you're also changing spellings too (the s to z) at John Marshall (archaeologist). Please stop that too. Masterhatch (talk) 10:08, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've reverted a few of your edits. Can you please go back and fix all of your edits that changed spelling and era? (And remove that period in image captions) Thank you. Masterhatch (talk) 10:47, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for using edit summaries more often. I see most of your edits are good and generally make improvements to articles. But, not to sound like a nag, could you please use two equal signs in headings? Using one equal sign causes the page to break as everything below it gets "hidden", much like using three equal signs after the two. I've corrected some of them for you. Please be more careful about that.with your future edits. Thank you! Masterhatch (talk) 22:39, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also, have a read at MOS:BOLD about when to bold and when not to. Masterhatch (talk) 22:49, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bharata (Mahabharata), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bharat.

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Varna (Hinduism), without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you.
