Help me...

[edit]

NikoSilver, could you help me make a signature? Also, don't forget the green "e" in my signature. Make the rest look red. Please do not forget the saying "come on" and "CVU" above. Thanks, please reply on my talk page--Sean gorter{mind a chat?} e@ CVU PS Please put it at User:Sean gorter/Signature.

A little lost with your instructions in my sig shop talk. Can you please add more details? I don't see "come on" in your current sig, but "mind a chat" instead. Also, your sig looks really nice as it is. Although it would be kinda hard, I'll try to find some inspiration to improve it until you respond... :NikoSilver: 15:26, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No no no, I want the background color. From User:Sean gorter Don't wanna put a sig.

? Anyway, here's an attempt, if I understand correctly:

 Sean gorter  {mind a chat?} e@ CVU

However, it is impossible to shorten the code (which is humongous), or apply a fountain fill mainly due to your linked "e" 's. This is how it would look like without them:

 Sean gorte {mind a chat?} e@ CVU

I can also use fountain fill in background but only without linking the e's like this:

 Sean gorte {mind a chat?} e@ CVU

Finally, I can tweak your present sig code:

Sean gorter {mind a chat?} e@ CVU

My only concern is that all these sigs are big in code length (your current one included). The only solution is if we remove the links in the end. Possibly like this:

 Sean gorte

This is decently short, shows you're in Esperanza (green e's) and anyone who wants to find out about the rest can click to see your userpage. What do you think? :NikoSilver: 13:43, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Niko, looks great!  Sean gorte 06:20, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please put in a User:Sean gorter/Esperanza link in A green 'e'. (Not more than one)  Sean gorte 06:34, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try:

 Sean gorte

...but it exponentially increases code size from 237 to 385 chars, while WP:SIG specifies a 200-250 character limit. This is because you can't nest 'span' (or whatever) tags throughout multiple wikilinks, nor can you nest a wikilink within another wikilink. That makes me repeat the code for the background and color of the first part of your sig (space plus 'S') to the last ('r' plus space), despite the fact that it is the same. It also makes me repeat the link to your userpage twice, since the Esperanza page intervenes.
Also, this:

 Sean gorte

...would not be a compromise either, since it well exceeds the limit (315 chars) while standard wikilink blue doesn't mix nicely with red.
I am posting those two sigs for you to see that I worked on it. Please don't use them. I would suggest you emphasize and link Esperanza in the head of your userpage and keep the last sig I gave you previously. The alternative to stick to your old one doesn't work either because it is 451 chars! Sorry :-(. :NikoSilver: 10:09, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Then I'll stick to my old sig:( Sean gorte 14:06, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't suggest that either. As I told you, it's 451 chars long! You were already in violation. Pick any other you like. Even the 385 one is shorter. :-) •NikoSilver 07:25, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I thought I'd try this:

 Sean gorte

I made some redirects. How is it?-- Sean gorte 08:15, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, I meant something with the white font. Take away the BLUE e's color and make it white please. Thanks:) Sean gorte 08:18, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Great, here you are:

 Sean gorte

(350 chars)

I can now tweak the code to shorten it a bit more:

 Sean gorte

There you are: 330 chars. Not exactly within the guideline limits, but definitely less than what you had in mind. •NikoSilver 09:01, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS, I can reduce it further by 15 chars if you like to substitute the three spaces (&nbsp ;) by one character (like eg "•", or ":", or "." or whatever). See below:

•Sean•gorter•

or

:Sean:gorter:

or

.Sean.gorter.

or any combination. Like 'em? They are all 315 chars long. •NikoSilver 09:13, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is they all exceed the 200-250 character limit. I am not sure if I would be allowed to do that. Bad:( Sean gorte 09:56, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The only solutions are:

  • If we link something else to the Esperanza page:

–Sean–gorter–e

(239 chars)

  • or if we drop the background fountain fill:

•Sean•gorter•

(223 chars) Not that bad, I would say... •NikoSilver 10:09, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not bad at all! Thanks! •Sean•gorter• 15:39, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please put this sig in your sig shop main page.

•Sean•gorter•

User:Sg may be put in CAT:CSD. •Sean•gorter• 09:13, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How did you create it? Didn't you log-in first? Read my instructions on how you should have done it in the talk with Jeremie here. Don't worry, if its CSD'd, we can always create another one (if not recreate the same one correctly). •NikoSilver 09:51, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and I just noticed you kept only one green 'e'. Therefore I can shorten the code even further, as follows:

•Sean•gorter•

Exactly the same result, and only 191 chars! •NikoSilver 09:57, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking of that, one more link!

•Sean•gorter•(Talk)

Only 225 chars (usually it's you saying this), but I could get some color for (Talk). Probably like this (yeah, it's usually you who is saying this, but now I'm NikoSilver {har har}):

•Sean•gorter•(Talk)

Off limits! (Now I'M NikoSilver!) So it's the above one I'm taking! Gotta get it to my preferences first, hold on... •Sean•gorter• 08:12, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just wasted time on the second sig! Almost done with my sig that is going to be used... •Sean•gorter• 08:28, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm done! •Sean•gorter•(Talk) 08:30, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bravo! I noticed that you even created a new user to redirect ("S!")! Your sig is only 225 chars, a hell of an improvement from the 451 that you used to have! And much sexier too! Take care and don't youdare think of taking my business! :-) •NikoSilver 10:08, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why would I? Anyway, I have a question for you:

Am I one of the customers whom you had to deal with for a long time before they were satisfied? •Sean•gorter•(Talk) 02:51, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not really, why do you ask?
Also, I have one question for you about the deletion issue: is User:S! openned in the manner I describe to Jeremie? If not, then whenever and if it gets deleted, just go ahead and do it exactly like that. •NikoSilver 11:00, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's the way you explained to him. Happy signature making and I'll give you a barnstar! •Sean•gorter•(Talk) 14:20, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Niko, on my signature, I have replaced <b> and </b> with ''' (-1 char!) How is it? •Sean•gorter•(T) (P) 10:13, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nice, but I'm surprised it works. Mine didn't use to. Thanks for the tip. •NikoSilver 10:49, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Then you could probably replace the <b> and </b> in your signature to ' ' ' . Why don't you do that now?

Like this:

•NikoSilver

Its also shorter in code length :) •Sean•gorter•(T) (P) 12:16, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! I'm NikoSilver again! :D •Sean•gorter•(T) (P) 14:38, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am taking your business...

[edit]

Yeah, I am giving people signatures now. HAR HAR HAR!!! •Sean•gorter•(Talk) 10:11, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kidding! •Sean•gorter•(Talk) 10:17, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ha! I saw that in your talk! •NikoSilver 14:02, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Damn! •Sean•gorter•(Talk) 03:16, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS You're still my good pal, though! I was encouraged by your work but I'm not as good as you on signature making... but I'm still enjoying it! •Sean•gorter•(Talk) 03:18, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could you add a section and name it "Signature created, gifted, and modified"? Because (trust me, I didn't give this signature to Mustafa Akalp) he made this signature: Mustafa Akalp You could put it there. •Sean•gorter•(Talk) 04:25, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On second thought, and after having checked his contributions, I'm not adding that sig in my clientele list at all. •NikoSilver 12:25, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sean gorter, again.

[edit]

Here's an idea that I tried but didn't use: ʘSean set you on fire!ʘRetaliate How do you like it? •Sean•gorter•(T) (P) 00:46, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Arson combined with artilery. Too aggressive for my taste. I like your present sig better. •NikoSilver 09:54, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I just thought it would have a bit of humor! •Sean•gorter•(T) (P) 10:21, 31 October 2006 (UTC) PS Retaliate, have revenge![reply]
Well, it definitely looked vengeful! •NikoSilver 10:35, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I made it to look vengeful! •Sean•gorter•(T) (P) 10:43, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature

[edit]

Hey, NikoSilver. You shortened your signature code, i noticed it, but it could be yet further shortened. Like this:

•NikoSilver (-18 chars!)

Shorter? •Sean•gorter•(T) (P) 03:36, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but 'ver' is not bold. Had tried before. Thanks though. •NikoSilver 10:08, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Srgsp

[edit]

Could you improve my signature? I would like to have more meaning to it. Let's say, in "Script MT Bold" font. •Srgsp• 10:48, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Our shop doesn't serve competitors. Sorry. :-) NikoSilver 17:11, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just asking for a signature. •Srgsp• 06:51, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, house rules. No competitors served. NikoSilver 22:56, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
